After the last Justice League movie literally tanked, Ben Affleck passed on the baton of Batman to Robert Pattinson, who gave up his erstwhile fangs for the cape. Plus, it is said that Affleck could not quite come to terms with the script of Batman this time, that basically focuses on the mental health of Batman, or rather Bruce Wayne, and his deep and rather intimate connection with the Arkham Asylum, especially in the days of his early youth after the loss of his parents.

Forget the supervillains of Batman, because none of them hold a candle to the Coronavirus, and the grip it has over the world. So the shooting of this movie, which Warner Bros is keeping tightly under the wraps, has ground to a halt, to prevent the spread of infection to the cast and crew. The release of this movie was planned to be in June 2021, but there has been no information as to whether we'll be seeing further delays in the release.

The filming of Pattinson's Batman began in January in London, and just recently, plans were underway to shift it all to Liverpool, England. With the virus spreading its tentacles far and wide, and travel bans being put in place all over the world, productions are being put to a halt across all studios. Warner Bros is no different, and so the shooting has been canceled, and cast and crew and returning home to self-quarantine as fast as they can, and that's a good thing.

It does seem a strange choice for Pattinson to play Batman, considering the roles he has done have had a dark edge about them. But for that matter, Batman is also the ultimate brooder, often shown to wonder whether its his goodness that makes him a hero, or does he do it to keep the demons at bay? Pattinson told JLo, for the Variety's "Actors on Actors" series, that he loves to play a character that the audience likes, especially when they shouldn't like him.

Along with the intense Robert Pattinson playing Batman, the movie also has Paul Dano as Riddler, Colin Farrell as the Penguin, Jeffrey Wright as Commissioner Gordon, and Andy Serkis as Alfred. The surprise package is Zoë Kravitz, who is playing Catwoman, or Selena Kyle. There have been plenty of leaks to show the svelter look of Batman, along with changes made to his car and cave. The movie will be R-rated and is exciting the fans aplenty, except that the release may just get pushed back.
