Benedict Cumberbatch shares details about his character on "The Power Of The Dog.”

The actor had to smoke a lot of cigarettes while portraying a ranch owner.

According to him, he used “Filterless rollies, just take after take after take. I gave myself nicotine poisoning three times. When you have to smoke a lot, it genuinely is horrible.”

Once a chain-smoker himself, he quit in 2014 for health reasons.

He also said he had to skip showers to really get into his role.

Cumberbatch admitted he felt ashamed for smelling really bad on and off set.

The actor was filming his movies during the pandemic, and according to him, the situation was “pretty grim compared to the norm.”

Cumberbatch also revealed that the upcoming Marvel film, “Doctor Strange,” was almost filmed in its entirety at a studio due to lockdown rules.

“The Power Of The Dog” can be streamed on Netflix starting December 1.
