Halle Berry can always be relied on for solid, simple advice. The 53-year-old Oscar winner hasn’t made an attention-seeking deal of the novel coronavirus – while most of Hollywood is joining forces for the public’s greater good, a few are finding a business opportunity from COVID-19 (Scott Disick is selling $120 Coronavirus merch).
Halle took to Instagram on Friday as part of her usual #FitnessFriday posting. Less about the rock-hard abs and more about the virus, Halle was out to remind her followers that staying home doesn’t mean you have to sit on the couch.
Halle’s photo showed her shot amid a black backdrop. The “Catwoman” star had been photographed up close and lying down as she wore a simple black tank top showing off her gym-honed shoulders. Posing with one hand over her face and while wearing a white pair of bandage-style training gloves, the star delivered her trademark low-key appeal, plus a message.
“This #FitnessFriday, I ask everyone to consider the health of not only themselves but of the people around them and to try a good old fashion at-home workout. Check my story highlights for a series of at-home workouts with me and @peterleethomas – fancy equipment NOT required! Stay SAFE and happy Friday!”
Halle’s followers were 100% on-board, both with the photo and its helpful message – after all, if you’re home, who says you can’t throw in a few squats.
“There were less people in the gym than are in my house. Lol?,” one fan wrote.
“Thank you beautiful sister?,” another said.
“Very good Halle, Thanks for caring about us ❤” was another comment.
Halle had mentioned long-time friend, “spirit animal,” and personal trainer Peter Lee Thomas in her caption – the two recently sparked romance rumors, but Halle shut it right down.
Coronavirus was confirmed as global pandemic by the World Health Organization last week. Cases in the U.S. have now surpassed 2,600 with President Donald Trump extending his inbound European travel flights ban to include the U.K. as Europe is now deemed the epicenter of the virus.
Last week saw 63-year-old actor Tom Hanks and wife Rita Wilson confirm that they have both tested positive for COVID-19. The two are in isolation in Australia. The NBA has shut down, with two of its Utah Jazz players Donovan Mitchell and Rudy Gobert both positive with coronarivus.
Much like cities across the world, Hollywood has been shutting down. Shows including “Live! With Kelly and Ryan” and “America’s Got Talent” are now filming without audiences, with Disneyland also closing its doors. Artists from Miley Cyrus and Madonna to Billie Eilish have also canceled their concerts.
As to those making a few bucks, there’s Scott Disick’s Talentless clothing line. The 36-year-old entrepreneur and ex to Kourtney Kardashian recently dropped his “PLEASE WASH YOUR HANDS” hoodies that retail for $129, also enlisting the help of supermodel Kendall Jenner and her mom Kris Jenner for the promo.
