Gabrielle Union and her family are truly tribe goals. The way they ride for each other and rock with each other is something that isn’t often seen on quite as large as scale in Hollywood. While Union and her husband Dwyane Wade have been in the news most recently regarding their unnerving support of their daughter Zaya’s trans identity, they have also made headlines during the arrival of the newest member of the Wade family, baby Kaavia. The family rode hard for the option of surrogacy when it comes to family planning and you’re met with the reality of infertility.
Recently, Union took to Instagram to share with the world one of her adorable family memories. The 47-year-old actress and author posted an Instagram post that displayed Wade and Kaavia in an adorable bonding moment. The Boomerang photo/vid featured the one-year-old Kaavia James, Union and Wade in a loving picture-perfect moment.
Union mimicked the motion of an airplane with her body by bending over with her arms outstretched. Wade could be seen behind her with baby Kaavia riding his back with a look of sheer joy.
It was such a wholesome display of familial love and Kaavia’s look of joy could brighten anyone’s seemingly cloudy coronavirus news-filled day. Speaking of which, Union appeared to allude to the state of emergency news dominating our airwaves in her caption on the photo that read, “Riding this out like… [Kaavia James] is a forever mood.”
She also tagged her husband’s personal Instagram account in the photo and decorated the caption with a series of emojis to further emphasize the moment.
Kaavia is a light that husband-and-wife Union and Wade worked really hard for, and they seem to be basking in every moment of it. In addition to creating an account highlighting their “shady baby”, Union and Wade take most opportunities to showcase their bundle of joy to the world. In a recent post shared on their Instagram account made for Kaavia, Union shared a video of the two of them playing a game of peek-a-boo. “Kaavia, where are you?” Union asked in the video.
The one-year-old poked through the fabric held up by her mom and giggled with glee. In her famously “shady” tone, Union captioned the post with the words, “They always telling everyone my business!! I called in sick to work but ran up to Target and they trying to jam me up! Peek-a-boo but you dont see me though, feel me?”
In another recent post, Kaavia can be seen crouching down to the floor with one phone in front of her and another at her ear.
“Dont judge me. I know I’m not the only one with a bat phone and main phone. Mind ya business,” Union captioned the photo and then hashtagged it with the words “ToeGripStrong” to make light of Kaavia’s positioning.
Getting these tiny insights into the Wades’ family life is the heartwarming affirmation we didn’t know we needed. With each and every new post, fans and admirers are able to see how strong the Wades’ familial bond is and how powerful and transformative that foundational love can be.
