Lala Kent, the 29-year-old Vanderpump Rules star, took to Instagram to voice her thoughts on the coronavirus, her wedding, and publicity. The TV personality is soon to be married to film producer Randall Emmett, and is sick (pun intended) of hearing about the virus, which causes a disease named Coronavirus Disease 2019, or COVID-19, and has affected over 1,600 people in the United States so far. Despite this, Kent has stated that she does not believe the virus will affect her April 19 nuptials.

On her Instagram story, Kent shared her honest thoughts about the global pandemic. The TV personality filmed the story while hanging out with a friend and lounging around in a hoodie and her hair in a top knot. "So, I may get in trouble for this but it’s okay," she began, "I just don’t feel that God would give me coronavirus before I get married. I just don’t see that happening to me." Hopefully God agrees, although weddings don't seem to be as efective in preventing the spread of disease as avoiding crowds and practicing good hygiene.

If She Does Get Sick, It Will Be for Publicity

Ever the optimist, Kent went on to share that if she did become infected, "I feel like that means that God is like, 'Bitch. You need a little publicity.’ That’s the only way I would get it I feel." She then asked her friend, "Do you think people are gonna slam me for what I said?" Although Kent believes herself to be immune to the virus, she isn't taking any chances. In fact, she assured her fans, "I’m not leaving this f--cking house."

After seeing the virus discussed on the news, Kent complained on her story, "I’ve been watching the news, and apparently there’s this really bad illness going around – it’s called coronavirus. Corona, corona, corona, corona, corona – I feel like a corona now!" Kent has been one of many celebrities to express concern over the rapid spread of COVID-19. Not a day before her comments, Tom Hanks and Rita Wilson announced that they themselves had contracted the disease. Hanks spoke with a much different tone about the infection.

To share the bad news of his and his wife's condition, Hanks posted a photo of the couple on Instagram, with the following caption: "Hello folks. @ritawilson and I want to thank everyone here Down Under who are taking such good care of us. We have Covid-19 and are in isolation so we do not spread it to anyone else. There are those for whom it could lead to a very serious illness. We are taking it one-day-at-a-time. There are things we can all do to get through this by following the advice of experts and taking care of ourselves and each other, no? Remember, despite all the current events, there is no crying in baseball." Although we all have different ways of dealing with crises, it is comforting to know that there are stars out there who are handling the situation with grace and sensitivity.
