Kerry Washington detailed saving jewelry from the wardrobe of her onscreen characters as keepsakes.

The mother-of-two kept a custom-made necklace, inspired by her son's initials, from her "American Son" role.

Washington saved earrings from her "Scandal" role, adding that jewelry is most important to a character.

The actress keeps the pieces for memory but wears them once in a while.

Washington partnered with female-owned Jewelry Brand, Aurate for a 20's Old Hollywood and Art Decor collection.

"Kerry X Aurate Be The Lead" collection features sustainable jewelry with gold finishes and topaz touches.

Washington was inspired by Josephine Baker and said the collection has a classy and elegant edge.

The 44-year-old partnered with another female team for the critically-acclaimed 2020 Hulu miniseries "Little Fires Everywhere."

Washington starred alongside Reese Witherspoon. The duo also executively produced the series with other notable women.
