Jamie Lynn Spears is revealing the brutal days following an announcement to her family that she was pregnant at 16-years-old, claiming she was pressured to terminate the pregnancy, using "pills" or "doctors" in the process.
Britney Spears' sister opened up about the difficult time in a new memoir, 'Things I Should Have Said,' which is about to be released. The 'Zoey 101' star says she started writing the book following her 13-year-old daughter's near-fatal ATV accident, back in 2017.
In a shocking excerpt from the book, which will be published in January, Jamie Lynn describes the terrible interaction she had with the family -- especially her father Jamie Spears -- and others who tried and convince her to abort the baby.
Jamie Lynn Spears: My Dad's Anger Brought Out A Sense Of Dread
"I came home from school, and Daddy and Bryan were there. A single day had elapsed before Daddy's anger brought out the sense of dread everyone felt about my situation. Once Momma and Daddy told my team, things spiraled out of control pretty quickly. When I walked in, Daddy, Bryan, and Momma were in the house and [a member of] my financial management team was on the phone. There was a whole lot of fighting going on between everyone involved," Jamie Lynn began.
She continued, "The entire Spears team was already caught up in my sister's PR difficulties, and everyone around me just wanted to make this "issue" disappear. My family and management pulled me out of school until they could figure out what to do next. They took my smartphone away, fearing the news would get out, and insisted that no one share any information with anyone, especially the press. My daddy and I stopped speaking and the tension was terrible."
Britney Spears' Sister Was Advised The Pregnancy Will 'Kill Her Career'
At the time, Jamie Lynn recalls the "chatter" around the situation and having many people around her say, "It will kill your career. You are just too young. You don't know what you're doing."
Plus, the actress says she was pressured with a possible abortion, with one person telling her, "There are pills you can take." Adding, "We can help you take care of this problem. Think about what you're doing to your family. Doesn't the family have enough to deal with? I know a doctor. There are procedures that remedy mistakes like this. You don't have to do this."
Britney's sister reveals in the new book, that everyone around her believed "termination" was the "best course of action" in her situation, but it reinforced her decision to have the baby. Interestingly, she reveals a "member of her team" was one of the only ones sticking up for her right to make the decision, saying, "Y'all can't force her to abort the baby."
"She was the first and only person on my team to show any support for my desire to keep my baby," JLS recalled.
Jamie Lynn Spears Almost Shipped Off To Live In Tennessee To Give Child Up For Adoption
Shockingly, Spears explained an "option" for the future of her child was to live at "Mercy Ministries" a home for unwed mothers in Tennessee, where should eventually give her baby up for adoption. "Daddy and I fought, slinging words and tossing insults. He grabbed me by the shoulders and held on tightly in the hopes of bending me to his will. I got in his face and yelled, "NO! I won't go." I couldn't deal with any of them. I ran away from them, panting with rage," she revealed.
As you know, Britney Spears is currently fighting her father in her conservatorship case, claiming he might have been involved in recording her inside her personal bedroom. A hearing to possibly drop the case is coming up in the next few weeks.
