Family Feud is one of the longest running game shows on TV today. The premise is simple, two families face off against each other in a survey style questionnaire. They try to guess the top answers of survey question (asked to the audience before the episode).
The show’s long time host is the hilarious Steve Harvey. With his enthusiastic personality, utterly shocked faces, and a stylish mustache, Harvey is the perfect host for a constantly changing show like Family Feud.
In one of the more recent episodes, one of the contestants said an answer that resulted in a (joking) walk-out, in addition to Steve doing his iconic confused expression to the camera. The question was to “Name a reason a woman might not want her husband on her team for Family Feud“
The meta question would surely make for some awkward moments, that much was certain. At the buzzer, the two contestants stood, one answered “too slow” while the other answered “bad answers”. The latter took the better answer, and so the game began.
The Harris family started off okay, that is until the two Xs shot up on the screen (this is the ‘3 strikes you’re out’ equivalent in Baseball), which meant they had one remaining chance or the other family could steal.
The previous answers were “He likes the spotlight too much” and “He sleeps too much,” both were wrong. It came down to Cynthia to give them one last chance. That is until one awkward answer popped out of her mouth.
“She’s embarrassed by the way he looks.” was the answer Cynthia decided to go with. This was met with awkward silence, and a few blunt “awws” in the crowd (not the good kind either). Harvey looked at the camera in his usual shocked look while he mouthed the words “wow” under his breath.
Her husband, Michael, began jokingly walking off the stage. The answer was really on the nose, but it’s just one of those moments that creates comedic effect, and really makes for good television.
Steve Harvey did an agreeable nod as the man pretended to walk off. The answer was met with that loud red X on the screen. It was a humorous answer, and thankfully it wasn’t up there because the answer was pretty rude if you think about it.
There are so many great moments that have come out of Family Feud over the years, and luckily there seems to be no signs of stopping. Even after all this time, the show is still going strong.
