According to Hager Bush, she was embarrassed to calm her father when she was caught trying to buy alcohol with a fake ID at the age of 19. However, she did call him and he came to her aid. Truly, several thoughts would have been going through his head at the time, but he only listened to one. He apologized to his 19-year-old daughter because he knew she just wanted to be a normal college kid.
Hager Bush said that her dad wanted to give her the space she needed to grow and make mistakes, and it was hurtful that they did not have that luxury because she was a president’s daughter. To cut the long story short, Bush did apologize to his daughter because he promised that she would lead a normal life, but that was not happening at the time.
Hager Bush is especially close to her father till date and the duo have been seen in several pictures going out and having fun.
