Billie Eilish is not going to stand for anyone body shaming her or other people. She is tired of it and wanted to make a statement. Boy did she make a statement out of it.

She set into motion a video that would kick off her world tour. Where Do We Go? is the name of her tour and she made a huge statement piece before. Like many she decided to address the baggy clothing she wears. She did so in a stunning way too.

Billie has a set style that everyone knows by now. The baggy clothing that hides her features and the layers. She doesn't look like many of the female singers who wear skin tight clothing. Eilish also supports really bright colors mixed with blacks to make a statement. The singer has carved out a niche that makes her well known among her fans.

She does this to make sure people can't objectify her. She wasn't always eighteen and it took the risk out of it.

What Eilish did though before kicking off her tour is amazing. Before she even took a step on stage a video showed up.

This video shows Eilish in a black pool of water taking off her hoodie and top leaving her in a bikini top. As she is taking the top off she is sinking into the black water. Audio is used as a voice over. The speech is one that covers the assumptions about people based on their size mantra that Eilish stands by.

“Some people hate what I wear, some people praise it. Some people use it to shame others, some people use it to shame me. But I feel you watching, always. And nothing I do goes unseen.”

Eilish makes these statements as she goes further into the black inky water. "Would you like me to be smaller? Weaker? Softer? Taller? Would you like me to be quiet?” she added as she sank down. “Do my shoulders provoke you? Does my chest? Am I my stomach? My hips? The body I was born with, is it not what you wanted?”

We have to applaud her on her stance on this. She has pushed back on people thinking she doesn't like how other women dress in the industry. She has stated that isn't the case and people need to stop pitting them against one another. Billie also revealed she struggled with her body image in the past. She said that "I have always supported and fucked with and just loved when a woman or a man or anyone in the world feels comfortable in their skin, their body, to show just whatever they want. I don’t like that there’s this weird new world of supporting me by shaming people that [may not] want to [dress like me]"

Billie addresses all of this in her speech. She leaves the crowd though with a few questions before the video ends. Leaving people thinking about what is really going on around them.

“If what I wear is comfortable, I am not a woman. If I shed the layers, I am a slut?” She asks the crowd directly.

It isn't the last message she leaves though. Her final words to the crowd were, “Is my value based only on your perception? Or is your opinion of me not my responsibility?”
