Although Gunvalson knew it was time to leave when she wasn't reinstated as a full-time housewife for season 15, she admitted to the magazine that she's been experiencing FOMO (Fear of Missing Out) in the weeks since announcing her exit.

“I had a little bit of FOMO, I have to say, of not filming right now," she shared. "Those last few years doing the show, for me, were really toxic, and when anything becomes toxic in my age at life — be it your career, relationships, friendships — you have to cut it out.”

Following a demotion of her own, Tamra Judge announced that she would be leaving The Real Housewives of Orange County after being offered a three-episode role for season 15.

Since Gunvalson and Judge's announcements, the two women, who live close to one another in Southern California, have stayed in touch. In fact, earlier this month, they were seen filming a secret project with each other.

Judge starred on The Real Housewives of Orange County in a full-time role from season 3 until season 14.

“Personally, I can’t be around that anymore,” Gunvalson said. “I can’t do the mean girls s**t. I’m over it. And about halfway through last year, when my castmate was criticizing my appearance and calling me ugly, I really had a revelation. ‘What, am I going to cry every day because you think I’m less than? No, I’m not less than. We all do the very best we can with what God gave us. And I’m beautiful the way I am.’"

According to Gunvalson, her decision to walk away from The Real Housewives of Orange County was due to the treatment she received from her co-stars in recent years. As fans may recall, Kelly Dodd, Emily Simpson, and others poked fun at her age last year.

"I just had to get away from it and say, ‘You can’t hurt me anymore. No one can hurt me.’ “

The Real Housewives of Orange County season 15 began filming last month and is expected to air on Bravo sometime later this year.
