Jay-Z isn’t afraid to brush a little dirt off his shoulder, or even an overzealous fan who felt it was a good idea to throw his arm around the star while courtside in Los Angeles.
Hova was at Staples Center on Sunday night to watch the Los Angeles Lakers defeat the Los Angles Clippers 112 – 103. He sat courtside, obviously, and enjoyed a daddy-daughter date with 8-year-old Blue Ivy.
Jay is a huge Lakers fan and has been out in full force lately, as he also sat courtside on Friday night when LeBron James led the team to a victory against the Milwaukee Bucks.
A local sports reporter, Nick Hamilton, caught video of Jay-Z after the game, as he stood up to mingle with the players, as is done with many of the celebrities who sit on the hardwood.
The rapper was casually greeting players and fans, while keeping a steady hand on Blue, until a very excited fan came up and threw his paw around the star. In the video, Jay-Z appears to make an initial greeting to the man, before ducking out of his grasp in a not-so-subtle way. The fan instantly knew he had gone too far.
It’s unclear what was said between Jay-Z and the fan afterward, but the man clearly knew he was in the wrong. Besides the fact that it’s not cool to invade someone’s space so aggressively, the world is in the middle of a Coronavirus pandemic!
To be honest, it’s kind of surprising there wasn’t more security around Jay-Z as he made his way around, especially with Blue Ivy by his side. Luckily for everyone, the moment seemed to pass quickly and it doesn’t appear anything escalated past the poor judgment.
It’s amazing to see Blue Ivy out with her dad, as the little 8-year-old is growing into her own independent person. She’s also picking up some major style tips from her daddy, as well as mom Beyoncé, and Blue gladly showed off her outfit to photographers during the game.
The young star was serving looks while rocking a denim jacket emblazoned with the words, “BLUE Is My Name” on the back. She paired the look with black jeans, combat boots and Fendi socks.
