Fans of the beloved musical, “Wicked,” got the surprise of a lifetime last week when it was announced who would be playing the roles of Elphaba and Glinda.
The Blast previously told you Ariana Grande will be portraying Glinda “The Good Witch” in the film adaptation of the hit Broadway Musical, and Cynthia Erivo will take on the role of Elphaba, famously brought to life by Idina Menzel.
Both Menzel and Kristin Chenoweth, who played Glinda in the original Broadway production, gave Grande and Erivo their stamps of approval.

No other cast members have been announced, but one thing on the internet is certain, fans of the musical do NOT want James Corden in the film adaptation.
Like AT ALL!
So many fans are against seeing Corden in the film adaptation that a petition to block him from the movie was started.
Over the weekend, a petition was created on Change.org. The petition is titled, “Keep James Corden out of Wicked the movie.
It’s mission statement reads, “James Corden in no way shape or form should be in or near the production of Wicked the movie. That’s pretty much it.”

It currently has a goal of 50,000 signatures and by midday on Monday, November 8, the petition had 42,916 signatures.
Many fans sounded off in the comments section of the petition as well as on Twitter.
One person wrote on the petition, “James C*rden ran over my pet dog and then stepped out of his car in a rat suit singing “let’s get loud” while thrusting his penis.”
Another wrote, “we’ve suffered enough.”
“James Corden is the worst and ruins every movie musical he’s in. I’m literally begging don’t let him anywhere near Wicked,” one impassioned fan wrote.
James Corden gets all hate and no love
Corden has appeared in a few Broadway musical film adaptations.
He had a role in “Into the Woods” in 2014 starring alongside Emily Blunt, Meryl Streep and Anna Kendrick.
In 2019, he starred in the pitiful film adaptation of “CATS” along with Taylor Swift, Judi Dench, Jennifer Hudson, and Jason Derulo.
The plea to ban Corden from “Wicked” swept across Twitter as well.
“I love whoever created the “keep james corden out of the wicked movie” petition,” a twitter user wrote.
Another wrote, “Well, I can’t disagree with this.”
One person went as far as to suggest they were creating new email accounts so that they could sign the petition more than once.
