Ah, Kendall Jenner. Where do we begin?

It's hard to argue that she is probably the least controversial member of all the KarJenner clan (but if you wanna argue, just @ me). Between both Khloé and Kim Kardashian's recent accusations of cultural appropriation, big sis Kourtney Kardashian's threatening to leave the beloved family show, Kylie Jenner's ill-received "self-made billionaire" status report...we could go on.

Sure, Kendall had a misstep with the Pepsi ads a few years ago, but at least she owned up to it! She's always been honest about her mistakes, open about her life, and over the past few months she's shared some of her literary lovings with us.

"We - who are literary snobs - support Kendall Jenner's taste in books."

This was the headline of a November 2019 Literary Hub article by Jessie Gaynor. Sure, it's been a few months, but between Fashion Weeks and family functions we can almost guarantee Kenny hasn't had the chance to finish all of these.

"Kendall Jenner posted an Instagram story of her [to be read] pile, and while 'literate celebrity' has emerged as a robust sub-genre of celebrity in the past few years, we were still impressed by her choices," Gaynor wrote.

"Jenner’s picks were surprisingly eclectic, and included a number of titles from small presses. Among her choices were The Complete Stories of Leonora Carrington, Amparo Dávila’s The Houseguest, Melissa Broder’s So Sad Today, and Chelsea Hodson’s Tonight I’m Someone Else.

Author Chelsea Hodson caught wind of Jenner's book reveal and tweeted about it. What's interesting about this is that - after unexpectedly stumbling upon some funny musings in the replies - we actually found another book the gazelle model has recently devoured.

"Wait, didn't Kendall Jenner also read Darcie [Wilder]'s book?" @CRITWorks asked. According to their Twitter bio, they are "a writing class in Brooklyn" taught by Tony Tulathimutte (Private Citzens). Although Hodson and CRIT confirmed Jenner did read a book by Wilder, no one outright stated which book it was: but we think we figured it out!

Based on a contextual clue of the two books both having "purple covers," we are (kinda) confirming the book of mysteries mystery book is Wilder's literally show me a healthy person.

(haven't even read it yet but already feel super exposed tbh)

Wilder joined the connected convo by asking an excellent question: "WHO is Kendall's book dealer?"

In 2016, KenJen caught major shade after she moved into her new home (that she bought herself at age 20 btw) and said that she filled her bookshelves with "a stack of magazines" she was featured in and "fun fashion books." Instead of us saying something pseudo-whimsical and/or didactic about not knowing what else took up space on the furniture she purchased with her cover-and-catwalk coins, we'll leave you with this.

"Just because you can't see something doesn't mean it isn't there. It's just waiting for the right time to show itself.” - Emma Hart, Never Forget.

And one for the road: In the words of LitHub's aforementioned Jessie Gaynor, "guess this means we need another way to feel superior to very rich celebrities!"
