On Saturday, there was one notable absence from the show. Pete Davidson. While the Saturday Night Live star has missed episodes in the past due to scheduling conflicts with other projects he's involved with, the comedian was still a part of the prerecorded sketches.

Speculation has been building as to the reasons for Davidson not appearing on the show, with many believing that the damning comments he made to Charlamagne Tha God last month being the cause. In his radio interview, Davidson criticized his castmates and the show, and even predicted that the end to his role on the SNL might be approaching.

Davidson did appear in last week's episode, while his friend, John Mulaney, hosted. The comedian did not make it to their after-party, though, being held at L'Avenue at Saks and Le Chalet. Many people in attendance, including his castmates, took notice that Davidson wasn't there and speculated that his comments with Charlamagne were the reason.

Well fast, forward to this past Saturday and no sight of Davidson. It's entirely possible that Lorne Michaels has finally had enough of the comedian and we've seen the last of him on the show.

In a lengthy, sit-down interview with Charlamagne Tha God, Davidson shared with the host that he thought the people on Saturday Night Live believed he was 'f---ing dumb' and didn't know how much longer he would be appearing on the show.

"It’s a hard thing to do 'cause you don’t want to ever pull the trigger too early," Davidson said about working on the show. "But everybody's always been like, 'You'll know when you know and it'll be all right.' I personally think I should be done with that show because they make fun of me on it."

Davidson went on to say that he was unsure which side people were on. Were they criticizing him and making him the butt of all the jokes or was it all in good fun? "It's like, ‘Whose side are you on?'" he said. "I have a weird feeling in that building, where I don't know whose team they're playing for -- if I'm the joke or I'm in on the joke."

And while Davidson praised head guy, Lorne Michaels, he shared that the environment on the show was not very friendly.

In describing what it's like to work on Saturday Night Live, Davidson shared that it's 'cutthroat' and instead of it being 'loving, caring', 'They don't give a f--k, at the end of the day'.

At the time of this writing, it's unknown whether his role on the show has been terminated, and it's likely that we won't be able to find out other than Davidson sharing with some outlet or a formal announcement from the network. It's, unfortunately, a 'wait and see' kind of situation.
