There's no question that the late Kobe Bryant left a lasting legacy for "girl dads" the world over. Ryan Reynolds is another celeb that subscribes with Kobe's theory that being a girl dad is the best! For Reynolds being a girl dad seemed like a much better alternative since he had grown up in a house full of boys. When Blake Lively was pregnant with their youngest daughter Betty, Ryan was really hoping that it would be another girl. At the time he potentially thought back to his own childhood, and he mentioned that he was "quietly terrified" of potentially having a boy.

What Went On In The Reynolds Household That Made Ryan Scared To Have A Boy?

Ryan Reynolds is the son of a former mounted police officer in Canada. The Reynolds' had four boys with Ryan being the youngest. From what he mentioned in a recent interview with Access, his brothers liked to play pretty rough. They were probably good at getting physical too. Two of his brothers followed their father's career path and went into law enforcement. We're not trying to imply anything about cops here, but it's usually not a job for folks who are overly soft. Reynolds mentioned about growing up with 3 brothers,

"I grew up with boys, and I was constantly being thrown through walls when there was a perfectly good door 5 feet away."

Another benefit that Reynolds can tally up in having 3 girls is that he recently worked with 2 other A-list actors that also happen to have 3 girls at home. Gal Gadot and Dwayne, "The Rock" Johnson also have three daughters of their own. Ryan did mention that the 3 would share experiences on the set of "Red Notice", and essentially compare notes. Although according to Reynolds the sharing experience really didn't amount to much.

"Dwayne and Gal and I, we talk a lot about that, and there is a sort of shared experience there that I think is worth noting. We love having our girls,"

Ryan Reynold's Daughters Are Essentially The Biggest Reason Why He's Stepping Away From Acting

 When certain actors make big decisions like stepping away from the game for a while it can lead to major speculation, precisely around the reasons why that person made a particular decision. Ryan Reynolds announced rather recently that he would be taking a sabbatical and stepping away from acting. He didn't leave any room for speculation though citing wanting to spend more time with his family as the main reason for making the decision. At the time he also revealed that he'd long been battling different mental health issues that he was looking to address. Particularly dealing with anxiety and overworking due to his anxiety. Reynolds though is hoping that getting a chance to be around his daughters more and seeing them grow up is going to help ease some of that pain saying,

"My kids, they're growing up faster than time and space would have suggested, so I want to be there. I want to spend some time with them."
