It seems that the constant Sherry Pie has gotten herself into some trouble recently. Which means that they are not going to be gaining the crown for season 12. It is a bit sad that she won’t be but the reason for her disqualification is sound.
Seriously what happened isn’t good at all. There are four main things you need to know about Sherry Pie and why she is not going to be on the final meet up. That hasn’t been filmed yet. RuPaul’s Drag Race will show like normal.
Well one thing you need to know. Sherry (real name Joey Gugliemelli) has some serious accusations right now. There have been several men stepping forward saying that they were catfished by the drag queen.
It is said that he catfished the men through email acting like a casting director. This was done and the actors that were doing this were used for nothing. All this comes from former classmates at SUNY Cortland and some actors when he was in Nebraska.
There are stories out there and they aren’t exactly great ones. The second thing you should know is what he was doing to get these men to send him videos. One of the men opened up about what he had to do for Joey Gugliemelli. The Cortland alum claimed he filmed scenes in 2015 of him wearing a tank top and shorts for Sherry for a fake musical version of A Nightmare Before Christmas. All because he was told that Tim Burton was affiliated with it.
The third thing to know is that the damage is done. This is what Sherry had to say:
“This is Joey, I want to start by saying how sorry I am that I caused such trauma and pain and how horribly embarrassed and disgusted I am with myself. I know that the pain and hurt that I have caused will never go away and I know that what I did was wrong and truly cruel. Until being on RuPaul’s Drag Race, I never really understood how much my mental health and taking care of things meant. I learned on that show how important ‘loving yourself’ is and I don’t think I have ever loved myself. I have been seeking help and receiving treatment since coming back to NYC. I truly apologize to everyone I have hurt with my actions. I also want to say how sorry I am to my sisters of season 12 and honestly the whole network and production company. All I can do is change the behavior and that starts with me and doing that work.”
The final thing you should know is that fans are happy with this. It is disgusting to know that someone would do that to people. Being catfished is already hard enough when it comes to dating, let alone work. Most fans are in agreeance that Sherry should be off RuPaul’s Drag Race. While they can’t take her out of the show, since most of it was pre-filmed, they can at least not let her be in the grand finale.
That seems to be the end of it so far too.
