We all know that the ‘AGT’ Judge Howie Mandel isn’t a fan of germs. We have seen the way he doesn’t like germs at all. He’s even been made fun of for being a germaphobe and the way he cleans everything he touches.
So what does that mean for the happenings of the world? Considering the coronavirus is out there. Which just means someone like Howie has it all figured out? Right? It would seem that he does have everything set.
He isn’t shaking any hands at all. We all know that Howie is one that doesn’t shake hands but will do a fist bump. The germ transfer of that isn’t as high as it is as one that shakes hands. However, he is taking it to a whole new level.
“I don’t inhale. I am not inhaling,” Mandel told Entertainment Tonight in Los Angeles this week of the strain known worldwide as COVID-19. Yes, that is right. He’s not inhaling deeply.
At first, we were a little confused. You have to breathe which means you have to inhale. What Howie is referring to is gasping for air around people. Despite the fact that the coronavirus isn’t airborne. It isn’t and thus inhaling means you are pretty safe. Unless someone coughs right in your mouth. In which case, yes do not inhale that.
Howie himself says, “I can judge with a big exhale,” he quipped. “Like, ‘Woo! You were fantastic.'” And he won’t need to inhale big.
Maybe, just maybe, Howie is actually one of the safest people when it comes to the coronavirus. He already doesn’t touch his face, or other people, and he washes his hands constantly. Pretty much he is doing everything that people should be doing right now.
As of right now, there are ways to prevent the spreading of the virus. A face mask is not one of them. Not unless you are presenting with the feeling of being sick. You just have to be aware.
There are ways to keep yourself safe that aren’t as drastic as not inhaling. For instance, wash your hands before you eat, or touch your face for at least 20 seconds with soap. If soap and water are not readily available, use an alcohol-based hand sanitizer with at least 60% alcohol. Always wash hands with soap and water if hands are visibly dirty.
Avoid people that are sick. Avoid touching your face, as that can spread any illness to you. Get enough rest, drink enough water, and wash your vegetables and fruit before eating them. All those things will help you stay healthy.
