Kristen Doute is releasing a new book, He’s Making You Crazy: How to Get the Guy, Get Even, and Get Over It, in June and ahead of its release, the Vanderpump Rules cast member admitted that one of her co-stars isn’t going to like the chapter she wrote about him.
During a March 4 interview with Hollywood Life, Doute admitted to writing a chapter dedicated to co-star Jax Taylor, who she hooked up with during the second season of the Bravo show.
“I haven’t told Jax [about his chapter],” Kristen admitted during the interview. “He has to know it’s coming. He’s probably going to get pissed.”
Although Taylor might not take too kindly to what was written about him, Doute was sure to run his chapter by his now-wife, Brittany Cartwright, who is one of her closest friends.
“I just wanted Brittany to be aware, because [he’s] her husband now,” Doute explained. “But I wouldn’t, again, be being completely honest if I didn’t touch on that.”
Luckily for Doute, Cartwright was “fine” with what she said about Taylor.
“I don’t feel like I trashed Jax,” Doute insisted. “But I don’t feel on Vanderpump Rules I ever had a moment — or I actually didn’t give myself the moment, which I’ve kind of said in the book — but I didn’t feel that I was allowed, or capable, or able…to speak those feelings at that time, and now I do.”
In addition to confirming that Sandoval “knows” about Doute’s new book and is featured in “a lot of chapters,” Doute said she’s “read a few things” to Sandoval’s longtime girlfriend, Ariana Madix, who Sandoval began dating shortly after their split.
That said, she “didn’t ask permission from anyone” when it came to share her stories.
“At the end of the day, if anyone’s going to claim these stories to be about them, that’s on them. I wouldn’t brag if I were them that that was their chatter,” she explained.
“I want this to be a universal book. That’s why every chapter is not a person. Every chapter is an experience,” Doute said.
Doute then explained that the goal of her book is “to create an army of boss b****es who own being ‘crazy’ and fight for the respect we deserve” and to “give every reader the tools to avoid or get out of unhealthy situations and find real love.”
