'Riverdale' Stars Camila Mendes, Madelaine Petsch, Molly Ringwald & Others Mourn Luke Perry

Wednesday marked the one-year anniversary of Luke Perry’s passing. The “Riverdale” star died suddenly last year after suffering a massive stroke. His death shocked cast members and millions of fans. Perry played Fred Andrews on the hit CW crime series.

Perry’s co-stars and friends recently posted on Instagram in honor of the late actor, including Camila Mendes and Madelaine Petsch. Marisol Nichols, who plays Hermione Lodge and Molly Ringwald, who plays Mary Andrews and is well-known for her role in “The Breakfast Club,” also expressed their thoughts.

In her Instagram story, Camila Mendes, who plays Veronica Lodge on “Riverdale,” posted a snapshot of herself with Perry and other “Riverdale” co-stars. She wrote, “thinking of you today.”

Mendes’s co-star Madelaine Petsch, who plays Cheryl Blossom, also expressed her thoughts on the one-year anniversary. Yesterday, she posted a photo of herself and Perry in her Instagram story. “Woke up and realized it’s been a year since we lost you,” she wrote. “Not a day goes by when I don’t miss you.”

Molly Ringwald and Marisol Nichols Post on Instagram

On Wednesday morning, Ringwald posted a photograph of the Luke Perry with the caption, “I can't believe it's been a year since we lost this beautiful soul. Your presence is felt and you are missed every day, my friend. ❤️”

Marisol Nichols also posted a screenshot of Perry from the “Riverdale” photoshoot for Season 2.

“One year ago. Missing this incredible being, it goes without saying we lost him too soon,” Nichols said. “He loved playing Fred Andrews, a genuinely good, honorable, caring dad and a stand up guy. And because that was who Luke was, he imbued his character with all of himself and we loved him for it. ❤️💔”

"Beverly Hills, 90210" Stars Also Shared Their Thoughts

Jason Priestley, who starred in the 1990s drama “Beverly Hills, 90210” alongside Luke Perry, also took to Instagram to express his grief.

“I don’t even have the words,” he wrote. “Miss you my brother... May you Rest In Peace... #riplukeperry.”

Scott Wolf, who starred in the 1994 drama “Party of Five” which was recently rebooted, added two emojis under Priestley’s post: “ 💔❤️.”

Ian Ziering, who also starred in “Beverly Hills, 90210,” wrote, “hard to believe it’s been a year since losing Luke. Though time heals wounds, the pain of loss lasts forever. Miss you so much pal.”

Other Stars React to the One-Year Anniversary of Perry’s Death

Other stars and friends who knew Perry wrote about the one-year anniversary of his death as well.

Carol Potter, who played Cindy Walsh on “Beverly Hills, 90210,” took a light-hearted route on Instagram. She posted a picture of a younger Luke Perry carrying a piglet.

“In honor of Luke I have given up eating pork, in its many varied forms, for Lent,” she commented. “Pigs are very intelligent animals and Luke often brought his sweetie to the set. Anyone want to join me?”

One year later, stars and fans alike have proven how much Luke Perry meant to them.
