The creation of Carrie Underwood's new book, Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life began years ago, when she launched her fitness clothing line, CALIA by Carrie, back in 2015.

“I keep workout clothes on all the time basically because I’m like, a workout can happen anywhere,” the Before He Cheats singer told Shape in 2018. “My favorite is to go to the park with my son – the kids’ jungle gym can be a really great workout for parents, too.”

“That is a passion of mine, and I’ve been falling more and more in love with it over the past 15 years really,” Underwood tells Today, discussing the beginnings for her new book release.

“People would say, ‘You should write a book,’ because I really love health and fitness, and I geek out over articles and trends and things like that, so we went for it just to see how it would turn out.” the prior American Idol contestant and winner continued.

“You are important,” Underwood noted, promoting self-care. “Of course your babies are important, your family is important, but you are important, and if you don’t have your balance, everything else is out of balance."

"So give yourself 30 minutes, 20 minutes, an hour –– whatever you can spare to do something for yourself, to keep you healthy, to keep you around longer.” Underwood mentions that if nothing else is taken from her book, she hopes readers come out the other side feeling better about themselves, taking themselves seriously.

Carrie Underwood's new book not only provides her own personal tips and tricks for getting and staying fit, but it also includes workout programs and journals, meal plans, and even some recipes.

“I feel like it’s all about practical choices, nothing in the book or in the app or anything is weird or unattainable, it’s practical,” the mother of two boys tells USA Today earlier this week. “That’s what it’s all about.” Her book also includes special workout cards to use for her fitness program.

“This is my healthier take on a comforting classic,” she said Tuesday during Today Show. “I call it my “ugly” lasagna because when you scoop it out of the slow cooker into a bowl, it’s not all nicely layered. It’s just a big pile of comfort food!"

Just add whole wheat, no-boil lasagna noodles, with onions, bell peppers, low-fat cheese, and spinach in the slow cooker for four hours. Oh! And smother it in pasta sauce. Makes for a yummy and healthy meal.
