Usher Joins 'The Sauce' Dance Competition Show As A Judge and Executive Producer

Usher Raymond is famous for his sultry voice and suave dance moves. Over the past three decades, he has established his place within the music industry. Lately, Usher, 41, has become a recognizable face as a judge of television competitions.

Now it seems, the Multi-Grammy Award singer is back to judge Quibi’s newest dance competition, ‘The Sauce.’ Usher will serve as a judge and executive producer of the show. The Sauce will be produced by award-winning filmmaker and director, Thaila Mavros’ The Front.

Usher originally bursted onto the music scene at the age of fifteen. His smooth vocals and sensual ballads helped catapult him to superstardom in the late 1990s. Signed to Kenneth “Babyface” Edmonds and LA Reid’s LaFace Records, Usher released his first album in 1994.

Enduring the disappointing reviews of his first album, Usher eventually returned with multiple albums that gave him chart-topping hits and won him several Grammys. Having early stardom is the experience Raymond the knowledge and insight he needs to help others succeed in the industry and what he will essentially bring to the show.

“Dance continues to drive much of our popular culture in increasingly more meaningful ways, and I can’t wait to help these young dancers express their extraordinary talent and vision,” said Raymond.

The new dance show will be hosted by brothers, Ayo and Teo. The Atlanta-based two brothers went viral in 2016 after they posted videos of their self-taught dance moves with the world. As a result of their rapid popularity, the R&B artist invited them to be a part of his ‘No Limit’ music video.

The brothers’ credit the performer’s invitation to jump-starting their careers.

’The Sauce’ will explore the unique dance cultures in ten different cities across the U.S., finding the freshest talent to compete head-to-head. Joining ‘The Sauce's’ panel will mark Usher’s second reality-competition where he was a judge and an executive producer (In the Mix, 2005).

Prior to ‘The Sauce’, Usher appeared on NBC’s song competition ‘The Voice.’ The singer/actor took CeeLo Green’s place as a judged and coached his teams for two seasons in season four (2013) and season six (2014) alongside Adam Levine, Shakira and Blake Shelton.

The Sauce will be one of the many unscripted shows to appear on the new platform scheduled to launch April 6, 2020. Quibi, an upcoming American mobile video platform was founded by Jeffrey Katzenberg in 2018. The company is currently is currently located in Los Angeles, California.

Krista Manis and Anna Pass will join Usher and Mavros as executive producers on the show.
