Travis Scott's 'Astroworld' concert was the scene of a tragic mass killing, that might have been caused by a wild theory that involves someone shooting random people with a needle.

According to new reports, a source close to the festival is saying that someone in the crowd allegedly started "injecting people with some sort of drug" which caused a giant panic and a surge of the audience that crushed many concertgoers near the front of the event.

Unfortunately, the scene turned into a horrific tragedy with leaving at least 8 people dead, and over 300 injured. Initial reports indicated that the massive crowd of 50,000 began surging towards the front causing some sort of "stampede" that caused people to get crushed. But, it appears an investigation is underway to determine if those who suffered from cardiac arrest were the same individuals who might have been injected by the individual.

At this point, it's unclear who or why this person would have done something like this -- except the sources claim it "appears to be a targeted attack." Tragically, one report claims a 10-year-old is one of the victims of the tragic event.

Officials in Houston, Texas -- where the event was held -- are calling the incident a "mass casualty incident." A fire chief held a news conference early this morning, telling reporters, 'The crowd began to compress towards the front of the stage, and that caused some panic, and it started causing some injuries," adding, "People began to fall out, become unconscious, and it created additional panic."

According to the Fire Department, 17 people were transported to local hospitals, and 11 of those concertgoers were in cardiac arrest. Right now it's unclear if the 8 deaths are amongst the people rushed to a nearby hospital. As you can imagine, many of the injured were treated at NRG Park -- the location of the event -- where a field hospital had been set up for the event.

Horrific stories have emerged from the event, including many on social media who are telling stories of the brutal incident. One woman claimed the issues began after Travis Scott took the stage and during the first song people started pushing toward the stage. "I passed out from the constant pressure on my chest and was one of the first people to be carried," she told the media. Adding, "They threw me on top of other people and crowd surfed me to other people, who lifted me over a fence where security was waiting. Security guards were bringing bodies from that area to the VIP area."

Travis Scott was initially aware of a problem with fans in the front row and reportedly asked for the show to be stopped to help fans that were in distress. Kylie Jenner's baby daddy specifically asked the security team to make sure they weren't hurt before continuing the concert. At one point, Travis called out for them to help a specific individual.

It should be noted, at this point, the needle and injecting report has not been confirmed by law enforcement -- but, is being reported by the media.
