Lamar Odom as many of you know was an NBA superstar getting drafted in the first round of the NBA draft by the Los Angeles Clippers in 1999. Odom enjoyed early success being selected to the NBA All rookie team, but with that success, red flags started to show. During his four year tenure with the Clippers Odom was suspended twice for violating the league drug policy. As a free agent, Odom signed with the Miami Heat for the 2003-04 season before being traded to the Lakers. Odom spent seven seasons there winning one championship and the 2004 Olympics. Things started to go downhill after the Lakers traded him in 2011.

After being traded to the Dallas Mavericks Lamar felt like he was "disrespected" by the Lakers. Odom only played one season with them after getting into an in-game spat with owner Mark Cuban. But the real problems began when it was revealed on the reality show Khole and Lamar, that Lamar's father was absent and was a drug addict. In 2012 Odom drug addiction became public after he checked into rehab. Then a year later it was reported by TMZ that not only did Lamar get a DUI, but he was also holed up in a private home with two women and crack cocaine.

Things didn't end there as Odom not only dealt with his drug addiction, but he had to endure the losses of both his best friends, Jamie Sangouthai, and Bobby Heyward, they died a week apart in drug-related incidents in 2015. Sangouthai died after contracting a flesh-eating bacteria from a dirty needle, while Heyward died from an overdose. This led to his wife at the time Khole Kardashian being heavily concerned about him going into a spiral. Odom spiraled heavily as he ended up at a hospital in a coma, after being found unresponsive in a Brothel. Odom did recover from his near-death experience, but his marriage was all but over as the cheating allegations and drug problems became too much for Khole.

Odom eventually recovered from his drug addiction as he is now engaged to model Sabrina Parr and has a better relationship with his love ones. Odom still regrets many things in his life such as pawning his championship ring to pay for drugs, and not listening to Jay-Z about investing in real estate and not a record label as he lost millions doing it. The passing of [Kobe Bryant] has hurt him badly as it did others, but Odom has learned to lean on his love ones during a time of need instead of drugs. Let us continue to hope Odom can keep his recovery up.
