While many contestants were said to be eyed for the role of the next Bachelorette, Clare Crawley has officially claimed the title.

Tayshia Adams, Tia Booth, and Kelsey Weier were all said to be in the running, but none of them were chosen in the end.

Clare's first appearance was on The Bachelor six years ago. She tried to win the heart of Juan Pablo Galavis, but lost. She became a fan favorite when she told Juan Pablo that she'd lost respect for him upon her exit.

It was announced a few days ago that Good Morning America would be announcing the next Bachelorette. However, they couldn't get the news out fast enough, as Reality Steve broke the news over the weekend.

While his announcement wasn't the hard and fast rule, he was pretty confident that Crawley would be chosen. We're unsure exactly how Reality Steve gets all his information, but we're impressed.

Clare Crawley will return to Bachelor Nation, in her fifth attempt to find love.

"What is happening?" says Crawley

Clare Crawley commented, "I literally just found out. So unexpected, can you believe this? Six years later? What is happening?"

Crawley has a long Bachelor history, including two seasons of Bachelor In Paradise and one season of Bachelor Winter Games. Her time on Bachelor In Paradise was unsuccessful, and she didn't meet anyone either time. However, on Bachelor Winter Games she fell in love with Benoit Beauséjour-Savard, and the two got engaged on the show's reunion special. Unfortunately they split up only two months later.

Clare Tells GMA What She's Looking For

When asked what she's looking for in a relationship, Clare was honest about her expectations for the show and her future relationship. She said,

"I want a man that will take off his armor. I want a man that is strong but is willing to take off the body armor, open themselves up and be vulnerable. I think that is some serious strength right there." She went on to say, "The biggest thing for me is, honestly, it’s all what’s on the inside for me. The outside, if you line up all the guys I’ve dated in the past, there’s no one type physically. It’s more if they go out of their way for me, if they make me feel special. This is about me now. I’m ready for it.”

Age Doesn't Matter

A lot of people have been talking about Clare's age in reference to her joining The Bachelorette. She's almost forty, and many think that's too old to be a part of Bachelor Nation. In a comment, she stated that,

"I feel like a lot of people put it out there as this negative thing. For me, it’s just more years under my belt. More years of learning and knowing what I want and what I won’t settle for."

We can't wait to see Clare Crawley as the new Bachelorette. The next season of The Bachelorette doesn't have an air date yet.
