During a stop of Oprah's tour, 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus, Lopez goes into details on her reaction to not receiving an Oscar last year. Lopez says, "I was a little sad,"

"There were so many articles, I got so many good notices - more than ever in my career - and there was a lot of 'She's going to get nominated for an Oscar, it's going to happen. If she doesn't [get it], you’re crazy,'" the talented Selena actress continued.

"I'm reading all the articles going, 'Oh my God, could this happen?' And then it didn’t and I was like 'Ouch.'"

The mom of two added, "Most of my team has been with me for years, 20, 25 years -- and I think they had a lot of hopes on that and they wanted it too, so I felt like I let everyone down a little bit,"

With the nominations Lopez picked up at the Golden Globes and Screen Actors Guild Awards, fans were expecting another win at the Oscars.

"I was a good actress -- always -- I can say that now to myself, but what I do now is so much different than what I did then," admitting this new viewpoint hasn't always been the same.

"You realize you want people’s validation, you want people to say you did a good job and I realized, ‘No, you don't need that. You do this because you love it," Lopez continued. "I don't need this award to tell me I'm enough."

After discussing Lopez's past achievements, Winfrey couldn't resist asking about her age. Lopez replies with, "[The number] doesn't mean anything to me. I honestly feel the same way I did when I was 28 and put out my first record,"

"I think it's a mindset of just continuing to realize that I am still growing. So as long as I'm still growing, there’s still somewhere to go, that there’s more to the journey, that just because I turned 50, it’s not over. We’re just like at halftime right now."
