Saved by the Bell was a pillar of many kids' childhoods. It was on every morning before school and we all cherished watching Mark-Paul Gosselaar (Zack Morris) and Tiffani Thiessen's (Kelly Kapowski) onscreen romance blossom before our eyes.

The reboot will be coming to NBC's new streaming service, Peacock. The show will feature some of the show's original stars, including Mario Lopez (A.C. Slater) and Elizabeth Berkley (Jessie Spano). Of course, it will also feature Gosselor as the main character and Thiessen in some capacity.

Zach is a... Politician

Don't worry, this isn't one of those reboots that recasts and keeps the kids young. The new Saved by the Bell will feature the cast as grown ups, living their lives and dealing with problems at a new school.

And apparently, that means Zack will be a politician. You heard that right, he's now the Governor of California. When he closes too many low-income schools, he sends the students to higher performing ones, including Bayside High.

The privileged Bayside get a huge dose of reality when the low-income students show up at their school.

While Tiffani Thiessen was not one of the first of the original stars to sign on, it appears that she'll be a part of the project now.

We're unsure of how much she'll be involved, but Gosselaar confirmed that Zack and Kelly would appear on screen together in some capacity. This confirmation came at SCAD's TVFest on Feb. 29th.

"As far as I know, she'll be in an episode or two with me. She was, at the time working on [Netflix's Alexa & Katie]," Gosselaar stated at the conference.

Time Commitments and More

When it came to the cast coming back, time commitments got in the way. With Thiessen's work on Alexa & Katie she wasn't available to do the reboot in the same capacity that everyone else was. It wasn't that she didn't want to do it, but her other commitments came first.

Gosselaar's role in Mixed-Ish also got in the way sometimes. Gosselaar is said to be staring in only three episodes of the reboot, which will launch on Peacock in April.

New Characters and Faces

While the show will feature some of the original cast, it seems the story will focus more on the new incoming cast. It's said to feature Zack's son Mac Morris (Mitchell Hoog), Jessie's son Jamie Spano (Belmont Cameli), and other new characters. Daisy (Haskiri Velazquez) and Aisha (Alycia Pascual-Pena) will also be joining the ranks.

The official description states that,

"When California governor Zack Morris gets into hot water for closing too many low-income high schools, he proposes they send the affected students to the highest performing schools in the state — including Bayside High. The influx of new students gives the over privileged Bayside kids a much needed and hilarious dose of reality."

We can't wait to see what this new reboot of a favorite sitcom brings to the table.
