The news of Oprah Winfrey taking a tumble on stage at Weight Watchers event has made its rounds throughout the internet, despite it only occurring this past Saturday.
Winfrey, who was speaking at one of her WW Presents: Oprah’s 2020 Vision: Your Life in Focus eventsin Inglewood, California, took an unsuspecting fall where she collapsed on her backside.
Since the fall, though, the talk show icon has posted to social media to let people know how she’s doing and that she’s in pain from the fall, needing rest and ice to recover.
One eyewitness that was present for the event spoke exclusively with HollywoodLife! to share what transpired during Winfrey’s speech and subsequent fall she took during her talk.
“Oprah was walking around on the stage and talking, giving words of wisdom to the crowd,” the eyewitness explained. “All of a sudden, she stumbled back, teetered on her heels and then fell right on to the ground, on her butt.”
Winfrey later took to her Instagram account to provide an update on her fall and the injuries she sustained, while also throwing in a little bit of humor to make light of the situation.

In Winfrey’s Instagram post, she included a video of her and her guest, Jennifer Lopez, as they were backstage discussing their outfits for the event. Winfrey was blown away by the monochromatic, yellow attire that Lopez was wearing.
Winfrey also included a ‘thank you’ to Lopez for coming to the event, while explaining her fall on stage and her recovery. “Thank you to the astoundingly age-defiant Jennifer Lopez who came to the show in this yellow stunner and gave new meaning to the word 50,” she wrote.
Thank you to the astoundingly age-defiant @jlo who came to the show in this stunner & gave new meaning to the word 50. LA: You were lit! In spite of my fall (which now becomes a meme), you brought me UP with your energy. Now I’m headed home to ice my knee 🥴 #Oprahs2020VisionTour pic.twitter.com/eOxB04ArKn

“LA: You were lit! In spite of my fall (which now becomes a meme), you brought me UP with your energy. Now I’m headed home to ice my knee and ankle,” Oprah’s Instagram post continued.

The event series that Oprah organized has included quite the list of famous celebrities including Lady Gaga, Tina Fey, Dwayne Johnson, and Michelle Obama. While Gaga chatted with Winfrey, she explained how she and Bradley Cooper had fooled everyone into thinking there was something romantic between the two of them while co-starring in the hit film, A Star Is Born. For the singer, it was simply a matter of good acting.
Gaga also shared her dark past that was filled with mental health issues as a result of her being continually sexually assaulted while she was growing up. Gayle King and Julianne Hough are the next two celebrities set to appear in the two remaining future events.
My conversation with @ladygaga this past Saturday for #Oprahs2020VisionTour was one for the books. She was so strong, so real, so herself. A lot of y’all have been asking where you can see it. Here you go: https://t.co/TgEUVaHTjl
