This season of “Real Housewives of Atlanta” has showcased some of the series’ most difficult moments. While many of the ladies have dealt with disaster, Porsha Williams has faced some of the biggest downfalls of the season. Shortly after giving birth to her baby girl, PJ, William’s discovered that her fiance, Dennis McKinley, was having an affair. The devastating news led to Williams impulsively ending the relationship. However, the pair has since rekindled their romantic relationship after months of therapy.
However, in a recent Instagram post, Williams appeared to throw some shade at her partner. The reality star posted a quote that said, “[Guys] say anything to get they girl back. ‘I’m gon go get help, I talked to the lady.’ [Man], what lady?”
Fans were quick to assume that the shady post was in relation to McKinley’s unfaithful past. Even McKinley made the post’s underlying meaning apparent by responding to the quote, posting, “I feel attacked” on his own Instagram account.
During this season of RHOA, viewers have gotten an inside look at the personal lives of both Williams and McKinley. During a couples therapy session, McKinley explained his “reasoning” for cheating on Williams while she was pregnant with their daughter. He said, “We had a rough pregnancy, all the way from start to finish,” he started. “Sex during pregnancy, it’s nothing that a man wants to do … and after PJ got here, postpartum was very real. We cried together like every night.”
“That’s not a good enough why, but that’s the why. It was a poor decision and it was a selfish decision,” he explained. “I made a mistake, I cheated. … I’ve done my best to let Porsha know that I love her and I’m remorseful and apologetic. The priority for me is the baby.” Williams on the other hand, did not respond well to his somewhat distorted excuse (understandably so).
The new mother responded honestly and firmly during the session to McKinley.
“A mistake, to me, is taking the wrong exit. You don’t make a mistake and set up with someone and cheat,” she stated. “That’s not where he needs to be in order for me to heal and move forward. He needs to be in a place in my eyes where he’s taking full accountability for his actions, period. No matter how it looks and feels. It insults me when he says mistake. I’m terribly disappointed and I’m hurt.”
While the pair are re-engaged, it does seem that there is still a long road ahead as they attempt to heal their relationship.
