'You' Star Scott Speedman And GF Lindsay Had A Home Birth For Their 1st Child

With access to a comforting, familiar territory and the possibility of more control, home birth is slowly finding its way back into society. Such was the case for Scott Speedman and his stunning girlfriend, Lindsay Rae Hofmann.

The "Underworld" star recently welcomed his first child and daughter, Pfeiffer Lucia, with Hofmann.

The proud parents announced the arrival of their newest bundle of joy on Instagram with intimate pictures of the precious baby girl, who made her entrance into the world through home birth.

On November 4, fans of the "Felicity" actor were blessed with a heartwarming image of the new dad posing with his baby girl.

The 46-year-old was captured staring lovingly at Pfeiffer's adorable face as he cuddled up beside the sleeping beauty. This relaxing moment was captioned:

"Pfeiffer Lucia Speedman. Born at home 10/26/21. In awe of my girl @lindsayraehofmann. Awe."

The adoring father wasn't the only one in awe of his daughter as his girlfriend shared a similar affectionate post on Instagram.

The new mom uploaded a series of black-and-white pictures of the baby, including a beloved image of the 30-year-old breastfeeding her daughter.

The Juillet Swimwear co-founder partly captioned the post with an explanation of their newborn's unique name. Hofmann wrote, 

"Pfeiffer, for her heart to always feel connected to the nature and sea & Lucia, to forever be our little 'light."

As reported by PEOPLE, the actor and his girlfriend have been eagerly anticipating the arrival of their daughter since Hofmann announced they were expecting on Mother's Day.

Speedman previously confessed to the news outlet that he couldn't wait to be a dad. "The Vow" actor explained that this was an opportunity his younger self couldn't handle.

However, at his current age, the entertainer felt ready to embrace fatherhood. Despite not knowing what the future would hold, the 46-year-old stated he was excited about the new changes.

According to a report by Marie Claire, the British-Canadian actor used to be a talented swimmer. As a teenager, he participated as a Canadian Junior National Swim Team member at the 1992 Olympic Trials, where he was in ninth place. 

However, his career as an athlete ended due to an injury. On the bright side, this inspired Speedman to pursue a career in acting, which he studied at the University of Toronto and York University.

His breakout role was the character Ben Covington on the classic teen drama "Felicity." The entertainer's success led him to more prominent roles such as Michael Corvin in the "Underworld" franchise and Dr. Nick Marsh in "Grey's Anatomy."

The 46-year-old also impressed fans with his portrayal as Matthew, a wealthy CEO in the third season of Netflix's thriller series "You."

The actor went from his typical romantic self to becoming the intense next-door neighbor of the show's serial killer couple.

Last month, The Blast shared juicy details about the hit series third season, which began airing on October 15. 

The latest season followed the show's stars Joe and Love, the killer couple, as they settled into a quiet place in Madre Linda with their son, Henry.
