Craig Conover Opens Up About Naomie Olindo Split From Metul Shah

Reality television star Craig Conover made a name for himself with films like "Shepic Fail Self," "Reprisal Officer Smith," and the popular reality show "Southern Charm."

Many fans were endeared to him for his brutal honesty and constant willingness to share his opinions on situations and issues around him, no matter how messy.

An excellent example is the recent "Southern Charm" reunion where he called out co-star Madison LeCroy about her alleged romance with baseball star Alex Rodriguez.

He later spoke more about his opinions on LeCroy and the allegations during his appearance on the late-night talk show "Watch What Happens Live," but that wasn't all. In another bout of honesty, he talked about his ex-girlfriend Naomie Olindo and how she was doing after her split from Metul Shah.

Many fans were waiting for his take on the situation, and as usual, his reactions did not disappoint. Read on to learn more about his relationship with Olind before her breakup and how she is faring now.

Conover and Olindo were one of the original sweethearts of "Southern Charm." They dated for a while and had a large fan base. However, to the disappointment of many, their issues, such as Conover's procrastination, led to them growing apart and eventually breaking up.

Olindo spoke about their relationship and breakup in a 2018 interview with the Daily Dish, saying, "I think it was just a culmination of things that at the end of it, we were just two very different people that couldn't get along. It was sad because we did care about each other. You saw, we just could not get along."

She also reported that their young ages contributed to many of their issues. According to her, "I was 22 when we started dating. When I was younger, you just start dating someone because you have a couple things in common, and you're attracted to each other and you have fun together."

"...You don't think about the attributes that would make you get along with someone, their work ethic, and all the different adult things that matter that don't matter when you're a 22-year-old kid," she concluded.

After Olindo's recent split from her longtime boyfriend Metul Shah, she moved back to Charleston to continue her career.

This is where she ran into Conover in gatherings, and they spoke, as Conover shared in several interviews.

So, when a fan asked him to give an update on his ex during his October 27 appearance on "Watch What Happens Live," he was able to give a little insight into how the reality actress is faring after the breakup.

He said, "She's been really happy. I think she's relieved in a weird way and happy to be back in Charleston. And things happen for a reason and she's just… I don't think she was that happy in her relationship and I think she's just happy to be living her own life again."

Olindo and Shah were popular and loved by fans and viewers of "Southern Charm." Although the latter was in a fan-loved relationship before, meeting Shah seemed like a breath of fresh air for everyone.

Olindo and Shah dated for over three years, and from the looks of things, their romance was going well. They later decided to move to New York, which was a huge step, and fans supported the duo. However, during the summer, Olindo shocked fans with the news that their relationship had run its course.

Olindo gave no reason why she broke up with Shah but hinted about a betrayal, which resulted in rumors that the romance ended because someone cheated.

In an Instagram story she posted at the time, she said, "Nothing will be worse than losing my Dad but this is a close second. Betrayal is never easy for anyone and I'm just so sorry to anyone else that has stumbled across those terrible messages."

Despite the nature of their breakup, Olindo was determined that she would not be the reason why fans send hateful messages to Shah.

She appreciated her fans' love and support when she expressed her sadness but clarified that that was all she wanted.

Her fans reportedly sent messages to Shah, condemning him for his betrayal and expressing hate for his actions. When Olindo found out, she went on her Instagram story to appeal to her supporters.

She wrote, "This is incredibly embarrassing and I feel so lost. I just ask that you please stop sending/saying hateful things to Metul. I have self-respect and I will not be getting back together with him, but he is also in a terrible place dealing with the consequences of his actions. Please don't be mean, he is human and this situation is punishment enough."
