Whitney Port got very emotional in a recent video she uploaded on YouTube.
The “Hills” alum, 36, shared the pregnancy news on November 3. However, she and her husband Tim Rosenman, 44, weren’t in a celebratory mood as they’ve been worried about their unborn child.
In a new video posted to Port’s YouTube page, the former reality star said she’s seven weeks pregnant. However, she felt particularly “stressed and overwhelmed” recently because she fears that her pregnancy might be “unhealthy.”
“I’m currently seven weeks pregnant, which is supposed to be obviously really exciting, and it has been up until yesterday,” Port said as she sat next to her man.
She also revealed that she has been visiting her doctor to monitor the baby “because of my history with miscarriages. I’ve had two miscarriages and a chemical pregnancy. And everything was looking good up until yesterday.”
When Port went for a routine ultrasound, her doctor shared some bad news.
“Whatever was happening in there was not where it was supposed to be, given the week that I’m at,” she said, adding that the medical professional was “an amazing, sensitive, sweet guy,” despite being “pessimistic” about the results.
“So, I will get blood results back today and see if numbers are going up or going down. He thinks they’ll likely be going down. And he is having me come in for another ultrasound on Monday,” Port said.
Port candidly shared her story online to reveal the truth about her struggles. According to her, keeping it a secret felt “weird and wrong.”
Rosenman agreed by saying, “Nothing we can do or not do is going to affect the viability of this pregnancy. We just are sharing types and have a community that…we can draw some strength from.”
Port also revealed that the pregnancy problem has been “such a huge part of our lives right now, and it affects everything, physically and mentally and everything that we do. And it just felt like an opportunity to just share it, because I couldn’t just sit here and go on with my life and not share it.”
She added, “And I know that there’s likely so many people out there that have had to deal with this.”
Rosenman and Port, already parents to 4-year-old son Sonny Sanford Rosenman, wanted to expand her family. The idea of not being able to give her husband s second child and her child a sibling made the fashion designer feel hopeless.
“I definitely feel just scared for myself and my confidence and my self-worth and what this means for that, and also for not being able to give this family what I think would be the best for it,” she said. “The emotions are obviously very complicated. I still feel very, very pregnant.”
In the YouTube video’s caption, where Rosenman appeared to have penned the message, he explained that Port “had another appointment where the doctor heard the heartbeat and saw an embryo, to everyone’s surprise.”
Message From Fans
Fans reacted to the news and sent “prayers” to the couple and their unborn baby.
“The stigma around “wait till 12 weeks” forces women to suffer in silence if something does go wrong. You need your support around you and pray that everything will go smoothly. All the best you beautiful souls,” one wrote.
“I’m so proud of you guys for sharing this journey and happy things are turning out for the better! There’s too much of a stigma around keeping pregnancy a secret and therefore having to grieve in private. But sharing your news and allowing yourself to have a community of support is so important! So much love for you both and your family,” added another one.
