The hit MTV show, Jersey Shore, is entering a new era with Nicole 'Snooki' Polizzi deciding to leave the show after almost a decade of being around. Polizzi has been one of the OGs, no doubt, and the show certainly will not be the same, moving forward. For Polizzi, though, it was something that was in the making for quite some time now.

Recently, the reality television star appeared on Entertainment Tonight, along with her castmates Deena Nicole Cortese, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, and Jenni 'JWoww' Farley to discuss her reasoning for leaving the show and what her experience has meant for her over the years.

For Polizzi, it all came down to family and raising her children the right way. She didn't want her children to be raised in a toxic environment, one that was lambasted with continual drama and frustration.

She also acknowledged that sometimes people just have to move on to the next chapters in their lives. "It's not called Nicole Show; we're all a part of this together," she emphatically stated on Entertainment Tonight. "I just feel like people move on sometimes. And having three kids and leaving and doing all of it is just really, really hard for me."

"I've said this before but I don't want to leave my kids and go into a toxic environment where there's drama and I'm upset all the time. I just can't do that. So, I just had to make a move," she continued.

Snooki Will Be In the Upcoming Season Due to It Already Being Filmed

JWoww shared that although Polizzi is leaving the show, she will still be in the upcoming season because it was already filmed. But she also shared that the drama created in the most recent filming was the final straw for Snooki and her decision.

"This whole season that's coming up, Nicole is a part of it, because we filmed it already," Farley explained. "She made the decision after the season wrapped. Because what the viewers are going to see is, it is really dramatic."

Deena then jumped in and commented, "I'm going to miss my meatball. There's more to her leaving than just the kids. You'll see."

The Cast Members Despise Leaving Their Happy Family Lives For Drama

Farley explained how difficult it is for the cast members to leave their happy lives with their families to go film a drama-filled show that ultimately leaves them frustrated and stressed out. "It's like we're going to leave our families, we're going to leave our children and when you go into a workplace where it's just like, 'Ugh,'" she explained.

"Don't get us wrong, we love our production and we love the majority of our castmates, but then there are times when you're like, 'Why am I leaving my family to just scream, fight and argue all the time?'" However, Sorrentino, who was also there for the segment, claimed that despite the bad times, it was ultimately reality television and that's what has made the show 'so great'.

"This is reality TV. There's good times and there's bad times and that's what makes it so great," Sorrentino shared with the ET host. "We really have an awesome dynamic and that's why we've been around for 10 years."

The new installment of Jersey Shore Family Vacation returns for the continuation of season three on Thursday, Feb. 27 at 8 p.m. ET/PT on MTV. It will certainly be interesting to see the drama that finally led to Polizzi calling it quits!
