Meghan Markle and Prince Harry are reportedly being “picked on” and Markle feels “insulted” by how they are being treated by the royal family due to the so-called “Megexit.”

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex made a huge splash when they announced that they would be stepping back from their royal duties and making their home in North America, and the queen as well as Harry’s brother and sister in law, don’t seem to be delighted with his recent choice, even to the point of being insulted.

The pair were taken aback when the queen decided that they shouldn’t be able to use the word “royal” in their “branding” and her granddaughter-in-law reportedly believes that it is retribution:

Meghan said that [she and Harry] were left with no choice but to make a public statement,” a friend told the Daily Mail. “She said if anyone should feel insulted, it should be them. They never intended to capitalize on the word royal, and to insinuate they were somehow abusing their privileges is absurd.”

While Prince Harry is currently in Edinburgh, to fulfill his last engagements as a working royal part of the family, Meghan and their son, are not currently with the red headed price.

“Meghan is going straight to London, not Edinburgh because that's Harry's thing,” the source told the Daily Mail.

“She said she and Harry will continue to rise above jealousy and pettiness and focus on the good they are creating and on being the best parents to Archie.

“She said she will continue to champion Harry because out of everyone, he has the most integrity and the most loyalty.”

However, according to Page Six, Meghan also thinks that the queen’s retribution could have been partly the doing of others in and around the royals.

The publication stated that one source near Meghan said that she believes that there is pressure being put on her royal majesty to take away the title from someone who has decided not to work in the family business.

“Meghan believes the Queen was ‘under pressure’ to demand they not use the ‘Sussex Royal’ name because Harry is the Queen’s ‘favorite and others just can’t deal with it,’ the friend said,’” Page Six reported.

However, according to a statement from Meghan and Harry’s official website, the pair confirmed on Friday that they would not use the “Sussex Royal” brand, even though they still had a right to it:

The statement reads: “While there is not any jurisdiction by The Monarchy or Cabinet Office over the use of the word ‘Royal’ overseas, The Duke and Duchess of Sussex do not intend to use ‘Sussex Royal’ or any iteration of the word ‘Royal’ in any territory (either within the UK or otherwise) when the transition occurs Spring 2020.”
