Linnethia Monique Leakes, best known professionally as NeNe Leakes, is an entertainer who has gained fame for achievements as a reality TV star, fashion designer, and occasional actress.
The 53-year-old is famous for being an original cast member on the Bravo reality TV series, “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
Although the entertainer’s time with the show has ended, it appears she still has more to offer, as the former “DWTS” contestant teased her return to the hit series on a recent episode of “The Real” show.
NeNe Leakes Has Unfinished Business With The “RHOA” Show
On November 4, Leakes’ virtual interview video was uploaded on “The Real” show’s YouTube channel. The footage captured the shocking moment when the TV personality expressed her interest in returning to the Bravo series.
The former “RHOA” star confessed to the hosts, Loni Love and Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star Garcelle Beauvais that she has some “unfinished business” to settle with the cast members. The 53-year-old said:
“Yeah, sure. I’ll return to the show, I’m okay with returning to the show as long as we can work through a few things. I’d be happy to return to the show.”
Before the entertainer could return to the show, she needed to settle the score with “RHOA’s” executive producer Andy Cohen.
The “Glee” star stated that the pair used to be close to the point where Leakes could pay for the producer’s baby shower.
However, the former friends appeared to be on bad terms as the SWAGG founder implied that she needed to “sit down” with Cohen before her return could be possible.
Why Did “The New Normal” Star Leave The Bravo TV Show?
As reported by PEOPLE, Leakes has been a part of the reality TV show since its premiere in 2008. However, the entertainer announced her departure from the series on her YouTube channel in September 2020.
After 12 years on the Bravo show, the mother-of-two stated that her time had ended due to an “emotionally exhausting negotiation” between herself and the show’s committee.
Bravo’s team also confirmed the departure of the Nene Leakes Collection’s founder with a statement of goodwill. The “RHOA” committee praised Leakes for being an “instrumental” part of the series while bidding her farewell.
The SWAGG Founder Wasn’t The Only Star That Abandoned “RHOA”

Last month, The Blast reported the problems following the production of the “RHOA” show, including the loss of some of its iconic cast members.
The future of the show’s 14th season began to feel uncertain as insiders claimed the production committee was considering hiring new faces to fill up the empty spaces.
Nonetheless, Leakes was the only person unaffected by the outcome of the Bravo show as she had bigger problems.
The 53-year-old lost her loving husband, Gregg Leakes, to colon cancer in September. The entertainer’s longtime partner spent his last moments surrounded by his loved ones.
