Lady Gaga is putting in her two cents about her role as real-life convict Patrizia Reggiani.

The singer and actress stars as Reggiani in the upcoming biopic, “House of Gucci.”

‘Gucci’ is about the fall of the famous designer family and the death of Maurizio Gucci, who was the grandson of the brand’s founder, Guccio Gucci.

Earlier this year, the real-life Reggiani spoke of her distaste for Lady Gaga portraying her and not even consulting her prior to filming.

In March, she spoke with ANSA, an Italian wire service, and served up a heaping pile of harshness for Gaga.

“I am rather annoyed at the fact Lady Gaga is playing me in the Ridley Scott film without having had the consideration and sensibility to come and meet me,” Reggiani told to outlet.

She wasn’t the only one upset with the film.

Patrizia Gucci, a second cousin of Maurizio’s, told the Associated Press, “We are truly disappointed. They are stealing the identity of a family to make a profit, to increase the income of the Hollywood system… Our family has an identity, privacy. We can talk about everything, but there is a borderline that cannot be crossed.”

Gaga recently spoke to British Vogue and was asked about Reggiani’s comments.

In response to the criticism, Lady Gaga said she only felt she could do the role and film justice if she approached it with the ‘eye of a curious woman.’

She wanted to possess a journalistic spirit in order to help her read between the lines of what was happening in the film’s scenes.

"Meaning that nobody was going to tell me who Patrizia Gucci was. Not even Patrizia Gucci." Gaga added, "I did not want anything that had an opinion that would color my thinking in any way."

Gaga explained that she went full method actor mode for this role.

She ditched her blonde locks, native English tongue and completely enveloped the role.

“I will be fully honest and transparent: I lived as her [Reggiani] for a year and a half. And I spoke with an accent for nine months of that,” she said.

She spoke in the accent off camera too.

“I never broke. I stayed with her,” Gaga revealed.

She expressed that it was nearly impossible for her to speak in the accent with blonde hair and that is when she made the decision to go full brunette.

“It was nearly impossible for me to speak in the accent as a blonde,” she told the outlet. “I instantly had to dye my hair, and I started to live in a way whereby anything that I looked at, anything that I touched, I started to take notice of where and when I could see money.”

Gaga admits she became “fascinated with the journey of this woman.”

The Grammy winner spent a year reading newspaper articles and watching recordings of Reggiani in preparation for the role.
