Once upon a time, the two princes, Harry and William, and William’s wife, Kate Middleton, were thick as thieves. The three royals were considered good friends who all loved and supported each other dearly.
Rumors have spread since Harry decided to step away from his life as a royal member of Buckingham Palace. Some claim the remaining family members are angry with him and wife Meghan Markle. Others say they miss him very much. Either way, they all just stepped out for one of their final tandem apperances for the Queen.
Harry and Meghan announced plans last month to step down as senior members of the royal family. This means they will no longer be considered working royals. They intend to work toward financial independence.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex have placed a lot of blame for their major decision on the British press. Harry has insisted that he and his wife felt forced out of the UK on account of the media’s behavior toward Meghan. Harry has stated their move is an effort to keep her and their son safe.
Reports are torn on how Harry’s grandmother, Queen Elizabeth II, is handling all of this. Some say that the Queen is being intentionally petty, choosing to take away Harry and Meghan’s ability to use the word “royal” as they had reportedly planned to do. Others say she is being nothing but supportive and understanding of her grandson’s plans for his future.
Queen Elizabeth II has requested Harry and Meghan to return to the United Kingdom in March to celebrate Commonwealth Day with their infant son, Archie Harrison. This is being considered their final official appearance as royals.
The trio all made appearances at different royal events today, marking one of the last times this may happen now that Harry is nearly finished with his run as a senior royal.
Duchess Kate visited a SportsAid event to encourage parents and guardians to support children’s athletics. Prince William kept himself busy with a string of appearances. The Duke of Cambridge visited Tarmac’s National Skills and Safety Park, a company dedicated to improving opportunities to British youth, and the homeless resource center The Beacon.
While William and Kate were busy with their own engagements, Prince Harry returned to the United Kingdom for his own event. The Duke of Sussex was in attendance at the Travalyst summit, an environmental travel initiative. He reportedly asked to be introduced as “just Harry” at the event.
This fits right in line with other recent reports indicating Harry’s desire to lead a more simple and normal life in Canada. The Duke reportedly likes to hang out with his wife and son, going on long walks together. It’s said he’ll occasionally run over to a local sandwich shop to bring home goodies for his family.
