Ben Affleck has been going on the rounds sharing his candid thoughts on struggling with his sobriety and how alcoholism, on his part, destroyed the marriage he had with Jennifer Garner. On several occasions, the actor had expressed the former couple’s demise as the biggest regret of his life.
Despite Affleck’s good intentions of taking ownership for his failed marriage and working to get sober so that he can be a better father for the children he and Garner share, the actress’s boyfriend has recently claimed that he’s uncomfortable with Affleck’s latest comments.
John Miller, Garner’s current boyfriend recently expressed that while he’s ok with Affleck trying to take ownership of his sobriety issues and how that affected his marriage, he believes he’s going a little too far, even trying to fix things between himself and his ex-wife.
A source close to the businessman recently spoke with Us Weekly and shared his concerns. The insider shared that Miller was becoming ‘uncomfortable with Ben’s interviews’. “John is empathetic to Ben’s struggles with sobriety, but he worries about how Jennifer has once again become the focus. … The spotlight on Jennifer is intense and Ben needs to consider her feelings before speaking so publicly.”

In the midst of promoting his new movie, The Way Back, Affleck has been very open about his struggles with sobriety and his marriage with Garner that ended as a result of his alcoholism. Affleck sat down for an interview with the New York Times, as well as, Good Morning America to discuss his struggles and marriage problems.
On GMA, the actor expressed his feelings about getting divorced and how it has affected him. “I never thought that I was gonna get divorced. I didn’t want to get divorced. I didn’t want to be a divorced person. I really didn’t want to be a split family with my children,” he said. “And it upset me because it meant I wasn’t who I thought I was. And that was so painful and so disappointing in myself.”
Later on, during the same Good Morning America interview, host, Diane Sawyer, pulled out a note that Affleck had written to Garner following his 2019 relapse that saw him return to rehab. Affleck was given the chance to read it, with emotions flowing through the words as he read them out loud.
“What I want to say publicly and privately is, ‘Thank you. Thank you for being thoughtful, considerate, responsible, and a great mom and person,” Affleck said as he emotionally read the note written to Garner. According to sources, it is this type of rhetoric that is concerning for Miller.

Although Miller and Garner have been dating for two years, and he’s had no problems with the ex-couple working together to co-parent their children, a source shared that Miller’s becoming increasingly worried about how this situation is progressing.
“John believes Ben would remarry Jennifer if she wanted to get back together,” the insider shared. “John wants to marry Jennifer but knows she isn’t ready yet.” While things seem to be becoming more cordial between Affleck and Miller, it’s highly unlikely that the two would try to rekindle a romantic relationship, but who knows? They do have children together and spent almost a decade married. We’ll just have to wait and see.
