It has been a while since we last heard "Cover Girl" by RuPaul blaring over our TV screens with strobe lights and cackles from Michelle Visage heard in the background, but with the premiere of season 12 of 'RuPaul's Drag Race' just around the corner, we certainly have a lot of great runway walking to look forward to. In a recent clip released by EW, episode one guest judge Nicki Minaj is seen walking the runway and giving the opening monologue, something Rupaul has done each and every season. Where is Ru?

But do not fear, Ru was just getting ready backstage, with Minaj exclaiming that she thinks she came through the wrong door and does not want to get in trouble with Ru. She then runs off to join the judge's panel consisting of Visage and Carson Kressley, veterans of the show. Her red dress is certainly eye-catching and very appropriate for the stage of 'Rupaul's Drag Race' which has seen the most extravagant outfits and wigs in all of its previous eleven seasons and four seasons of 'Rupaul's Drag Race All Stars.'

Minaj is not the only big name joining the judging panel this season. Congresswoman Alexandra Ocasio-Cortez, actor Jeff Goldblum, and singer Normani are just a few of the major celebrities appearing on the judging panel to help crown the next drag superstar this season. Cortez is known for using phrases and terms coined on the show when responding to those who criticize her on Twitter. She has been a fan of the show for a long time and expressed how happy she was to finally be a part of it on social media.

Several standout contestants will be competing for the crown this season including Rock M. Sakura who is only the second contestant ever to represent San Francisco. Sakura's makeup is extremely dramatic and reminiscent of that of All-Stars season three winner Trixie Mattel, with huge eyelashes and heavy eyeliner. Dahlia Sin is another notable queen who is the drag daughter of Aja from season nine. She credits Aja as the person who helped her get into drag and even bears a striking resemblance to her.

The season 12 queens looked patriotic as they shot the promo poster for the season dressed in red, white and blue, but will definitely bring the color and the sparkles with all of their amazing looks throughout the rest of the season. So no, Minaj will not be replacing RuPaul any time soon, but she will definitely provide some great feedback and critiques for all of the hopeful queens this season, and certainly knows how to take a page out of RuPaul's book and make a dramatic entrance.
