Carrie Underwood is the epitome of a badass. She wears multiple hats as a wife, mother, entrepreneur, entertainer and most recently, author. Her first book, Find Your Path: Honor Your Body, Fuel Your Soul, and Get Strong with the Fit52 Life is available March 3, 2020.

Carrie said during a recent interview at Country Radio Seminar in Nashville that she wrote most of the book between the hours of 2 a.m. and 6 a.m. during her pregnancy with second son, Jacob.

Writing a Book Was Completely New to Her

“At the time I was writing a lot of the book, I was pregnant, and I had the worst pregnancy insomnia, which actually ended up being a blessing because that’s when I wrote the majority of the book —the window from, like, 2 a.m. to 5 or 6.”

The songstress explained how writing a book was a whole new experience for her, and she didn't realize what the process would entail.

“I really had no idea what I was getting into when we started writing the book. I was just like, all right, we have the CALIA [fitness apparel] thing going on, and obviously this is a part of my life that people would ask me about, and it seemed like a good idea. So it was kinda like, let’s give it a try and see if I have anything to say.”

Writing a book about health & fitness seemed to be the perfect route since Carrie is passionate about healthy living. She launched her own fitness apparel line, CALIA by Carrie Underwood, in March 2015.

The line consists of bras, tops, bottoms, swimwear, and accessories, available in both regular and plus sizes. CALIA by Carrie Underwood products are available at DICK'S Sporting Goods stores, as well as online at Carrie often posts photos of herself on Instagram wearing CALIA pieces, using the tagline, "Stay the Path."

She's Going on a March Book Tour

Carrie is used to taking the stage and meeting fans after performances. But in March, she'll embark upon a new journey with a book tour to promote her book. She'll hit four cities on the tour: Brooklyn, Stamford, Nashville, and Los Angeles.

As for details on what's in the book, the description references what Carrie calls the Fit52 Life. She explains, "I want to be healthy and fit 52 weeks of the year, but that doesn't mean I have to be perfect every day. This philosophy is a year-round common-sense approach to health and fitness that involves doing your best most of the time — and by that I don't mean being naughty for three days and good for four. I mean doing your absolute best most of the time during every week, 52 weeks of the year."

She Shares Workout Tips & Recipes

The book will also include recipes, meal plans and workout programs that can be done at home. Sure, Carrie probably has a personal trainer and a lifestyle that allows her to prioritize fitness, but she also looks damn good, so her tips are probably worth trying.

If she can make time to work out, raise two kids, be a good wife, go on tour as a performer and as an author, the rest of us can certainly strive to "stay the path" the same way Carrie does.
