'Raiders' star Henry Ruggs was reportedly going 127 MPH, upon impact, in the seconds leading up to the deadly car accident.

According to multiple reports, the NFL star was traveling a such a high rate of speed, he was only able to slow down to 127 MPH before slamming into another vehicle. Investigators claim Ruggs wouldn't participate in field sobriety tests, but when tested at the hospital his blood-alcohol level was twice the legal limit at .161. 

The football star appeared in a Las Vegas courtroom for the first time, where he appeared to have a massive gash on his nose and was wearing a neck brace. The accident reports claim Ruggs suffered "serious" injuries in the massive car crash, but was able to attend the court hearing.

The details of the accident are brutal, saying that both Ruggs' corvette and the Toyota Rav 4 that he slammed into rolled over 500 feet after the initial impact. As we reported, the NFL wide receiver appeared to be impaired at the scene and was transported to a local hospital. Tragically, the 23-year-old woman driving the other vehicle was pronounced dead at the scene, after the car burst into flames.

Plus, the victim has a dog in the car who was also killed in the accident.

After searching the wreckage, investigators found a gun in Rugg's corvette. It's unclear at the moment if the firearm was legal. Following the hospitalization, the football player's bloodwork revealed he had a blood-alcohol level of .161. Ruggs' girlfriend was also in the car and suffered serious injuries too.

At this point, Ruggs has been charged with DUI resulting in substantial bodily harm and reckless driving. The judge in the case set his bail at $150,000 including a ban on drinking alcohol. Henry was ordered to not get behind the wheel and will wear an electronic monitoring device until the next court hearing.

The judge in his case was as shocked as everyone, pointing out he has never seen a case where the defendant was traveling at such a high rate of speed.

It's not shocking that Ruggs was dropped from the Raiders organization following the deadly accident, and merchandise from the football star was yanked from many online stores. According to reports, stores in Las Vegas were given the order to stop all sales of Ruggs-related apparel in the hours following the incident.

Plus, the Raiders official store comes up empty when you search for "Ruggs" or "Henry Ruggs" seeming to have pulled the merchandise as well.

It should be noted, Ruggs was drafted by the Raiders in 2020 as the 12th pick overall. He is a superstar, who attended the University of Alabama, where the team won a National championship. Henry quickly became the number one wide receiver on the team, and the Raiders are in first place in the AFC West.
