Princess Beatrice is set to marry Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi on May 29 at the Chapel Royal in St. James’s Palace. The reception will follow in the Buckingham Palace gardens. Edoardo has a young son, Wolfie, from a previous relationship, and he’ll get a place of honor in his father’s wedding — as a pageboy alongside Prince George.
People reported that the boy, born in 2016 to Edoardo’s former girlfriend Dara Huang, an architect and designer, is close with Princess Beatrice so it only made sense to include him in her big day.

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo have only been public with their relationship since early 2019. The two got engaged in September 2019, when Edoardo proposed in Italy. In a joint statement, the two of them said, “We are both so excited to be embarking on this life adventure together and can’t wait to be married. We share so many similar interests and values and we know this will stand us in great stead for the years ahead, full of love and happiness.”
Edoardo, who goes by Edo, has reportedly been friendly with Princess Beatrice and her family for years. Town and Country wrote that Edo’s stepdad was Christopher Shale, a political operative and friend of former Prime Minister David Cameron. He died in 2011 and Princess Beatrice’s parents, Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, went to his funeral, as did Beatrice.
Edo and Princess Beatrice also found themselves at the same wedding in 2014, so while the two may not have started dating until 2019, they were at least acquaintances before that.
Prince Andrew will reportedly still walk Princess Beatrice down the aisle on her wedding day, despite the drama he’s currently embroiled in and despite him stepping back from his royal duties after being tied to Jeffrey Epstein’s sex-trafficking ring. Royal expert Angela Mollard said on the New Idea’s ROYALS podcast that she still believes Prince Andrew will be involved in Princess Beatrice’s small wedding, because it’s the wedding she’d want. “She wants it small, contained, family; not a whole raft of celebrities and who can blame her at the moment when her dad’s in the spotlight?” she said.
Princess Beatrice’s wedding to Edo will be a small affair, but their families will be involved, including Wolfie with his mom’s blessing. “I wish the best for Edo and Beatrice and look forward to uniting our families,” Huang said in a statement. She shares custody of their son with Edo, and a source told People that Princess Beatrice is very fond of the boy and also hopes to have her own children with Edo in the future. “They’ve been on family vacations together [with his son]. They are really happy,” the source said.
