Jojo Siwa made history on the 30th season of "Dancing With The Stars" when she debuted as the first-ever same-sex dance team with partner Jenna Johnson.
Yet, this historical journey is no easy feat and has come with many rough injuries for young Siwa and her co-star.
The eighteen-year-old got candid about the difficulties of performing on "DWTS" and broke her silence on her recent split from her ex-girlfriend.
Jojo Siwa Details Challenges Faced On "DWTS"
During her Tuesday's appearance on the "This is Paris" podcast, Siwa opened up about the difficulties behind her perfect scores as a dancer on "DWTS."
Host Paris Hilton asked if there was anything hard about her performances. Siwa replied she should have asked if there was anything easy about them.
The dancer said "DWTS" was different from anything she had ever done, and she faces a lot of pressure. She and Johnson push themselves hard every week, but it was a lot of fun and worth it.
Siwa said every week; a new body part is broken, adding that Johnson had a broken rib last week while she has a "Mount Everest" blister the size of a quarter.
The "Jojo's Juice" star said despite being a dancer, her moves on the show are complex. She described it as being 'like a football player trying to play baseball.'
Siwa said with every new performance; she feels as confused as a Chinese foreign exchange student.
The "Dance Moms" Star Remains Besties With Ex-Girlfriend
There seems to be no bad blood between Siwa and her ex Kylie Prew. She described her as awesome, adding that they were both currently having the time of their lives. Siwa said,
"she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy."
"The J Team" star counts herself as lucky for not completely losing Prew. She noted that the end of relationships should not mean the end of friendships. Siwa said she is pleased and remembers her fun times with her ex. She clarified:
"nothing bad happened, it just is the definition of a cheesy saying of 'right person, wrong time."
The dancer credited their breakup to her "hectic schedule" and their age, adding, "we're both so young, she's 17, I'm 18." Nevertheless, Siwa said they would both take a bullet for each other.
The "Boomerang" Singer's New Leading Lady
We all need a friend to lean on during hard times. The Blast previously shared that for Siwa, this is her "Dancing with the Stars" dance partner, Johnson.
The two did not only make history as "DWTS" first same-sex dance duo but are close friends offstage.
Siwa expressed to outlets that her co-star has become her older sister and guided her through so many things, including finding happiness with herself.
The actress said her mom loves that Johnson is in her life as a friend and big sister because she is not trying to change her but wants her to be happy and secure. Siwa is "forever grateful for" Johnson.
