JoJo Siwa is speaking up for the first time about her recent split from girlfriend Kylie Prew!
The “Dancing With the Stars” contestant, 18, told Paris Hilton, 40, on her “This is Paris podcast” that she and her former flame, also 18, are still communicating despite breaking up.
Still Talking
“I have yet to talk about this officially, publicly, but we broke up,” Siwa said. “But she is literally still my best friend. I talked to her yesterday, she just got a new puppy. She’s awesome. She’s having the time of her life, I’m having the time of my life.”
She added by saying she’s “really lucky” on not losing Prew completely even though their relationship ended, because according to her, “friendships don’t have to end.”
Not The Right Timing
Siwa then concluded that their relationship simply was not at the right timing.
“I was very happy that it can be because that’s all I wanted,” she said. “But I’m really happy that I remember all the fun times, all the good times, and nothing bad happened. It just is the definition of a cheesy saying of ‘right person, wrong time’ and I hate cheesy sayings but they’re true.”
Siwa added that “everything’s good, I’m good.” She also revealed to Hilton what contributed to the split — her “hectic schedule” and her age.
It was just last month that Siwa and Prew parted ways after a year of being together.
Difficult Times

Siwa shared a cryptic post on Instagram about going through difficult moments in her life, both personal and professional, which fans thought was related to her love life.
“This has been a WEEK,” the “J Team” star shared on October 9. “My brain has never been so overwhelmed/overloaded with not only work but also personal life. A litttttle inside at the work side of this week!”
She continued, “This week we have 2 show nights of dancing with the stars, which means 2 dances! Double the fun… also double the work (andddd 2 less rehearsal days). I feel so happy to say that I feel READY! I never thought my dances this week would get to the point where I could stop thinking and just dance, but I’m almost there!! I don’t think anyone knows how happy I am to be a part of DWTS this season❤️”
Feeling Positive
She added, “This week of my life has taught me SO much. Live in the moment. Smile however you can. Whatever it takes to be happy, do it. My brain is dead, my knees are bruised, and my puppy is cute. That’s what is coming to my mind right now! These are videos all from this week. The 1st slide is me giggling at something 🤷🏼♀️ who knows what!”
The dancer then talked about how “DWTS” has helped her mental state during difficult times in a recent interview with ET.
“We can thank this one for making me feel better about myself,” Siwa said of her dancing partner Jenna Johnson, 27. “This show, for me, has put me in a really happy place and makes me feel like myself. I think that is something I am really, really, appreciative of. It’s so real, and it is what it is.”
