One Dead In Henry Ruggs Corvette Crash: 156 MPH, .161 BAC

Henry Ruggs, 22, has been one of the Las Vegas Raiders most talented players, but his NFL career is likely over now. This is due to a car crash, in the Las Vegas valley. This occurred on Tuesday morning, around 3:40am, per TMZ.
Prior to the crash, Ruggs was seen at a Top Golf location, by the Las Vegas Strip. It was reported that Ruggs was the one who caused this crash, as his Chevrolet Corvette collided with a Toyota Rav4, which soon caught on fire. Ruggs ended up in the hospital, with non-life-threatening injuries.

Ruggs Charged With Killing 23-Year-Old Woman
When police arrived at the scene, they also claimed that Ruggs showed "signs of impairment." The full list of charges for Ruggs, ended up being DUI with serious bodily harm and reckless driving with death or serious bodily harm. The DUI charge could result in 20 years in prison. The reckless driving charge could hand Ruggs an extra 1-6 years.
The victim is also said to be a 23-year-old woman, who ended up being trapped in the vehicle. There was no way for her to get out, and got caught in her vehicle being lit in flames. Ruggs' girlfriend. Kiara Washington, was also in his car, and suffered "serious" injuries. Police also added that leading up to the crash, Ruggs was traveling at "a high rate of speed." Ruggs was booked in absentia, while still being treated at a local hospital.
Raiders Officially Release Ruggs
With Ruggs' NFL career showing all the signs that it will not resume, the Raiders are taking action, against the star wide receiver. The team took to their social media feeds, that Ruggs has officially been released, and is no longer on the Raiders. This has come as no surprise to fans in Vegas, or NFL fans in general. Ruggs was involved in taking someone's life, and him remaining on the Raiders would've been a disaster, overall. The Raiders are being commended for taking swift action, as Ruggs is also being criticized, for making a horrible decision, in driving in his condition.

Ruggs Was Driving Car At 156 MPH
Ruggs definitely shouldn't have been at the wheel, that night. According to TMZ Sports, the now-former Raiders star was reported to have been speeding at 156 MPH. His Chevrolet Corvette collided with the Toyota Rav4, at 126 MPH. Rugg's blood alcohol level was also said to have been twice the legal limit. In addition to killing the 23-year-old woman, her dog also died at the scene.
Ruggs Was Drafted By The Raiders In 2020
Ruggs has been in the middle of his second season in the NFL, as he was originally drafted by the Raiders, in the 2020 Draft. He was the 12th overall pick, as he was a superstar, at the University of Alabama. Ruggs also won a National Championship at Alabama, in 2017. He is a native of the state, as he's from Montgomery, and also played high school football, in the area.
Ruggs has been the Raiders number one option at wide receiver, but now, that's all changing, in the middle of a solid season, for the team. They currently stand at 5-2, and are in first place in the AFC West. They are aiming for their first division title since 2002, and their first playoff appearance, since 2016.
