Hilary Duff is well-known for her role as the title character in Lizzie McGuire, and more recently, Kelsey on Younger. She also has a large Instagram presence where she posts videos and photos of her children - son Luca, 8, and daughter Banks, 1. Duff takes her role as a mother very seriously, and will do anything - much like any other mom - when it comes to protecting her children. This was exemplified with a photographer showed up at her son's soccer game and started snapping photos.

After noticing the photographer, Duff began to film him on her cell phone. She asks him who he's here with, which he responds, "I'm here with me." She then goes on to ask him if he knows anyone on the team and asks him to stop taking pictures of the kids. The photographer claimed that what he was doing was legal, but Duff responded that it was making her uncomfortable. He then went on to show his ID, but that's not what Duff was interested in.

“I’m not asking you to show me ID. I’m asking you to stop taking pictures of our 7-year-old children if you don’t know anyone that’s here. I’m asking you, human to human, as a mother, if you don’t know anyone here can you please stop taking pictures of our children playing football this morning.” The photographer didn't listen, though, and continued to take pictures, telling Duff that her "paranoia factor is unwarranted" and he was "not there to scare you or anything like that."

When the photographer continued to refuse, she said, “No, it’s just an uncomfortability factor that these are 7-year-old children and you don’t have a child here. I will just post this to my 15 million followers on Instagram, and let people know how creepy it is that this is what you choose to do on your Saturday morning.” She captioned the video calling him a "Creep!" and saying that the "laws need to change" and that "this is stalking minors."

Plenty of celeb moms chimed in with opinions of their own. Busy Phillips said, “THIS IS INFURIATING. This isn't about his job or his ‘rights.’ This is about his OWN perceived POWER over others. I imagine it's the only time this pathetic person feels any power in his life. I know it's illegal for an adult not with a child to be inside a playground — how is taking pictures of children without parental consent legal?!??” Nikki Reed, “This is beyond unacceptable and I stand behind you with an army of mothers who applaud you for refusing to back down in an instance where yet again, a paparazzi is stating his right to photograph minors.”

Even Perez Hilton had something to say in the comments. "I don't run any paparazzi photos of celeb children on my site. Every media outlet should agree to do the same. #NoKids." This isn't Duff's first unfavorable run-in with paparazzi - the last notable one happened when she was 9 months pregnant with her daughter, Banks, and was being stalked for photos. “I politely asked him to let me be and he continues to follow and stalk me down like prey for hours now. This is not OK." Unfortunately, unless laws change, it probably won't be the last time, either.
