When Keeping Up with the Kardashians first aired on E! back in 2017, it mostly had a heavy focus on the three main Kardashian sisters; Kim, Kourtney, and Khloe. The show proved to be the thing that launched the family into the A-List spotlight, landing them important appearances, jobs, and other likewise ideas. At the time of the show’s premiere, the younger Jenner sisters, Kris and Bruce Jenner’s direct children, were only 9 and 11 years old. 9 year Kylie and 11 year old Kendall took the cameras like fish in water.
The show has documented the growth of the family, and we’ve literally witnessed Kendall and Kylie growing up before our eyes. Kylie has launched and incredibly successful make-up company, aptly named Kylie Cosmetics. And Kendall is a forerunner in the world of professional modeling, often walking in popular fashion shows such as Tom Ford and Victoria’s Secret. So if the two Jenner girls have found such success outside of the E! show, do they really even need to be contractually obligated to appear on it anymore?
History would have it that Kylie and Kendall would not be the first of the family to take a step back from the reality show light. Over the past 3 years, Rob Kardashian has rarely made an appearance on the show. At first it was due to issues of anxiety and being self-conscious about his body, but now it appears that he is simply busy being a great dad to his daughter Dream. He has attempted to branch out on his own before with different clothing company ideas.
The oldest Kardashian sister and mother of three, Kourtney, has recently spoken out about about stepping back from her reality TV duties, in order to spend more time with her kids. In fact, this has recently been the spark of some family drama between the three sisters and the latest season of ‘KUWTK’. Kim and Khloe wanted to fire Kourtney from the show, which in turn had a negative reaction from Kourtney, who felt attacked by her sisters because she simply wanted more privacy.
Even though the series may be the longest running show on E!, all good things eventually come to an end. There is no doubt that each of the sisters are financially independent with ventures outside of the series. We are starting to believe that maybe the family is so used to the camera being there, that they may be strange without them! There is no doubt though that without the series airing, many fans would be very disappointed, like us!
