The ladies of Little Mix are breaking their silence.
The British girl group recently opened up about former band member, Jesy Nelson.
Last month, the solo singer was accused of “blackfishing” in her solo-debut, “Boyz.”
Leigh-Anne Pinnock reportedly called Jesy out in messages that were leaked on social media.
In a new interview, the ladies say “blackfishing” is ‘problematic and harmful.’
Jade Thirlwall said, “Capitalizing on aspects of blackness without having to endure the daily realities of the Black experience is problematic and harmful to people of color.”
"We think it’s absolutely not OK to use harmful stereotypes.”
They revealed they don’t want to dwell on Jesy, because they have so much to celebrate as a three.
“One thing we will clarify regarding the “blackfishing” situation is that Jesy was approached by the group in a very friendly, educational manner.”
