Hollywood actresses never seem to age; they are exactly like fine wine, they just get better with age. So many of these beautiful women not only set the ridiculous high standards but they can encourage bad behaviors for women all over the world to pursue. These celebrities actors and actresses aren’t doing this because they are mean and ill-mannered, they are just the cogs of a bigger physical dilemma that plagues pop culture. As audiences, we just need to be aware of this issue.
There’s an unrealistically high standard to people perceive as beautiful and attractive, especially in Hollywood, the hub center of popularity. These women are drop dead gorgeous and they shouldn’t be ashamed of it; in a matter of fact they should be proud. Elizabeth Hurley is 54 years old and looks more beautiful than the majority of 21-year-old women in the world. Emilia Clarke is 33 years old but there are no wrinkles or cellulite that reveal her age.
This high beauty standards does for men too. Again, no hate towards the guys that simply just handsome human beings, but in order to get movie roles and they have to have a strict diet, workout intensely, and take a little steroid. Henry Cavill had to dehydrate himself in order to fill out his role in the Witcher, and Hugh Jackman had to go under intense training and intense diet for his role in Wolverine. All of these criterias are not a natural aesthetic these men were born with.
Everyone is insecure, and for a lot of people, their insecurity is with their body. Americans spend billions of dollars on weight loss programs and foods in order to get their ideal body and to look similar to who they see on the big screens. This applies to men and women both. In South Africa, there is a huge skin bleaching problem, where the women risk themselves of getting skin cancer in order to lighter because fair skin is the beauty standard there.
First thing first, people need to realize that everyone’s body is different and completely their own. No one is going to have your exact same body structure and genes; you should work with the best you got. Looking at celebrities’ beauty can be a motivator but it can’t be an endgame. On the celebrity side, they need to reveal the truth of what they do in order to maintain this high standard of beauty. It’s not just genes and makeup, but there’s scientific intervention. Honestly will clear the cloud of misconception and mystery when it comes to an attractive body.
