The hot new collab between Pusha T and Jadakiss will not be available on any streaming services, at least for now. Pusha T reveals that the concept of the song, in light of Pop Smoke's murder, has forced him to pull it down. 'Hunting Season', the track from the upcoming Jadakiss album Ignatius, was released Friday in advance of the album’s drop next week. It was removed soon after as the song’s lyrical content drew parallels to Pop Smoke’s recent murder.

“When I think of these rappers, I wanna go huntin'", Jadakiss says on the track, and he then goes on to scowl "You better have your shotgun loaded". Even though it was inspired in part by Ignatius “IcePick” Jackson, a close friend of the rapper’s who died in 2017 from cancer, the idea of hunting season and ‘killing rappers’ isn’t sitting to well well as they mourn the recent death of Pop Smoke. 'Rest in peace Pop and condolences to his family', Pusha said.

Pusha T recorded 'Hunting Season' with Jadakiss and it was slated to be the third release off of the upcoming album, Ignatius, which is to drop on February 28th. The lyrics of the song conjure up a violent images, including references to stalking and hunting other rappers like prey. The song’s release on Friday stirred up feelings that Pusha T addressed in an Instagram post the removal. He also made it clear that the song's content mentions a request that was made by his friend, the late IcePick Jay.

The Connection

A protege of Kayne West, Pusha T has some of his own 'baggage', being an alleged cocaine dealer and the cover for his album, Daytona, was picture of Whitney Houston's bathroom that contained all the ingredients of an addict in grave trouble, complete with cluttered counters, cigarette butts and white powder caked spoons. Pusher's longtime manager had signed Pop Smoke to his label, and just last year, Pusha T brought Pop Smoke out to perform 'Welcome To The Party' during his set at Brooklyn’s Greatest Day Ever Music Festival. This made things hit home a little harder.

What Will Happen To the Song?

Pusha T seems to be standing by this sentiment for now, but will it fade over time and will people have moved on and forgotten in due time. Ignatius is Jadakiss’ fifth studio album and it planned to be released next week. However, it's currently although unclear now as to whether or not 'Hunting Season' will be included on the album. We shall see the fate of 'Hunting Season' and probably sooner rather than later.
